i was just watching star trek: the next generation... to skip the point a ferrenghee (sp?) ship fired at the enterprise, and ryker (sp?) yells "SHIELDS UP" like he always does..

now tell me... if he doesn't yell that, is the enterprise ed? you'd think that the state of the art flagship we make would be automatically shield itself if fired upon, instead of relying on somebody telling it to protect itself.. like what if ryker was tying his shoe or sneezed...

It's the same with letting the woman take command, something always goes wrong. Troi crashed the Ent-D and took over the Ent-E after Star Trek 10. Janeway got her ship lost and then added like a bi-polar freak for 7 years.

They need better woman in command.
