star wars trilogy dvd set $42 preorder on amazon.com

An 'insider' tells me that BestBuy is going to have it for either 36.99 or 39.99 w/ a freebee of some sorts for the first 50 or so folks... in addidition, you get REWARD ZONE points...

Well, that's lame. you should get a freebie if you pre-order. I pre-ordered Rebel Strike to get the bonus disk, then when the game came out they were giving them away. I felt cheated, and decided never to preorder again. Now, since I pre-ordered, I don't get a bonus at all but I can get a bonus if I DON'T pre-order. The circle is now complete.

Its like a member card. You pay $10 to join, then you get points for every dollar you spend. After like 5000 points you get something like a $10 giftcard. I'm not sure if those numbers are correct, but that is how the system works. So, I you buy a lot of stuff from there, it is worth it to join. I only go there for $19.99 games, then use the GGC to get them for $14.99. So in my case, it is not really worth it for me.

Best Buy gave me a free Rewards Zone membership for some reason. It just arrived in my mail around the time the program started. For every $125 you spend, you get a $5 coupon. It's really not that great. And so far, every time I bought something at Best Buy, I've forgotten to bring my card with me.

If you give them your phone # they should be able to credit you without the card.

Careful when you rip from other sites, the associated sponsorship fees (referral fees) or whatever they are called in your text link will give money/credit to Bens Bargains. Someone has edited your link so that the associated site is Cheap Ass Gamer.
I dont know who you would prefer to get the extra revenue, but I dont think you should post another persons link on this site.
And as a matter of point, if you didnt want anyone to receive money for your transaction you could just say
"type in amazon.com and search for star wars trilogy dvd"

I found out that Lucas is changing abunch of stuff in the films...like when they take off darth vaders mask its gunna be anikan from the first films (except its his "aged" face) and all the people at the end when it shows anikan and obi-wan and yoda...its gunna be all the people from the new films...I wont be wasting my money on this

www.fye.com has it for $34.99 after rebate and free shipping :D

they'll probably have the same deal at their b&m stores too with a freebie (a poster or something like that).
How fast is their free shipping. Its a good deal, but I dont want to wait too long to get it.
We have been waiting over 20 years for this! What's an extra week?

Really? I asked them once if I can get the credit without actually having the card and they said no. Probably just got a stupid employee.

I suppose your right. $35 is a great deal, and I can wait. After all, its coming out at the end of September, and Ill need all the time I can get for playing Fable.

I can't wait for this DVD to come out. I will prob wait to buy it from a b&m store. My bestbuy might have a midnight sale and free stuff so I would rather get it there.

well, that shows the details. However, I'm not sure if I'm going to take advantage of that deal. That boxset is going to be something that I'm going to keep for the rest of my life. I don't want to damage the box by cutting out the upc just to save $6.

Be sure to use SHARE THE LOVE with fellow cheap ass gamers to save 10% off at Amazon.com

I know BestBuy.com has it up for Pre-Order now and you get the R2-D2 Beneath the Dome MockUmentary for free with it. Believe it is $45 through them.

I will wait till release though. I'm hoping someone has a deal where they have buy both Star Wars DVD and Star Wars Battlefront and get $10 off...but I HIGHLY doubt it. Would be nice though since I want both.

Actually, you don't have to cut out the UPC code for rebates. Whenever I would buy a DVD at FYE that had a rebate, I would do the following:

FYE usually has a sticker on the shrinkwrap of a DVD that has their price, and a barcode on it, which they scan when they ring you up. They don't scsn the actual barcode on the DVD, they scan the barcode on their sticker.

What I did was remove the shrinkwrap, and then cut around the sticker, leaving the sticker on a small piece of shrinkwrap. In other words, I didn't remove the sticker; that just makes a big mess. Or just mail the whole plastic shrinkwrap if you don't feel like using scissors. Their price sticker/store barcode counts as a UPC, since it does verify that you purchased an item in their stores. I've gotten many a rebate this way.

Hopefully, I haven't been confusing. I know that I often post a long explanation, but too much information is better than not enough, right? :)

I'm waiting to see what Walmart sells this for locally, I know when the indiana jones trilogy came out they had that for 32 bucks to beat the competition.

What!! I just preordered it the other day b&m FYE because it had a bigass $35.00 tag on the preorder case. I figured it was a good deal, so I preordered it and there was no mention of a rebate from the employees or on the case. I ain't doing this rebate shit. Can anyone tell me if I just got scammed outta $5.25?

Looks like shop.mtv.com has a decent deal on the set.

It's $49.99 and if you spend more than $50 you get $8.29 off. And use code SUMMER to get another 10% off. [DEAD]

So, if you can find something cheap....you can get it for under $40...which is ok. Shipping is free....no tax in most states

if this is true ill be one of the first 50 probably number 22..........

I was at FYE today and they have the same deal at their store 49.99 plus a 15.00 rebate and you can pick it up the day it comes out.They will probably have this deal the first week it comes out. So check around for the best deal.There rebate take about 8 to 10 weeks to arrive. I would pay 39.99 if BB has it for that price.

I was expecting this set to run around 60-70 bucks, but hell for 40-50 bucks, I will definitely pick this up to replace my VHS SE trilogy. I will probably wait and get it at Best Buy.

Best Buy SW DVD Release Events
Wed, Aug 25, 04 04:38:42 AM EDT

David writes in with this list of Best Buy stores with Midnight Release Events. Here's the scoop from the source:
I have received a list of the stores around the nation that will be holding Midnight Release Events for the Original Trilogy DVD. The event begins at 10:30PM, Monday September 20th with giveaways to the first 50 people in line as well as sweepstakes prizes. Doors open to the store at 12:01AM for the midnight release of the Star Wars Trilogy.
* North Avenue - Store #323 1000 W. North Avenue Chicago, IL 60622-2549

* Riverside - Store #110 3900 Tyler Street Riverside, CA 92503

* Westwood - Store #367 10861 Weyburn Ave Los Angeles, CA 90024-2909

* Sterling, VA - Store #146 45575 Dulles Eastern Plaza Sterling, VA 20165

* White Marsh - Store #159 Nottingham Square White Marsh, MD 21162

* Westbury, NY - Store #454 1100 Old Country Road Westbury, NY 11590-5625

* RICHFIELD, MN - Store #281 1000 West 78th Street Richfield, MN 55423

* Plano, TX - Store #202 2800 N Central Expressway Plano, TX 75074

Booooo my store isn't on there. I am assuming that there will still be some sort of freebie other than the mockumentary in the store. I am guessing it will be something like a magazine or something, like they did for LotR. Also since Battlefront is coming out the same day I wouldnt be surprised to see a buy the Trilogy and Battlefront together and save $XX.

Gamestop has the best deal on the set just 29.99 if you trade in three dvds you get 20 bucks off the set. I traded in three dvds i had bought from the WalMart 5.50 bin last year.

Has anyone heard if there will be a box set eventually that will have all 6 movies? I might just hold out for that since I don't have either episode 1 or 2 on DVD yet (as good as they are :roll: ).
http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4010572

Outpost.com has it for $41.99
Outpost has horrible shipping prices... I'm hoping Fry's will have a deal for this that'll beat out the competition. If not, DDD will have to do, if I end up getting it...

Renz, is there a Fry's near UC Davis?

Just use SHARE THE LOVE at AMAZON

Should be able to get a good price on it that way...you will save 10% off and get free shipping still

OF course, I will wait until next week when we start seeing the B&M ads until I make my final decision.

I'm still hoping on a SW:Battlefront (XBOX) and DVD set combo deal ;)

you guys are in luck, use code SWBAPREORDER when you preorder battlefront and the trilogy and get them for $82 shipped, battlefront is $47 shipped alone

located that on bensbargains

I am trying to decide on ordering it from amazon or wait and get it at best buy. My brother is saying it make get to be a few dollars cheaper at best buy, but the chances of it selling out is really high, so I should just go ahead and order it from amazon.com. What do you think are the chances that it will sell out/be cheaper at best buy?

This is for the PC game though.....not really much of a deal either ($5 off I think)...considering OUTPOST.com has the DVD set and the GAME both on sale. Not sure about shipping though.

I think I may stick with BB and try to use my MADDEN 20% off coupon

Well, if you add the set to your cart on BestBuy.com it comes up as being $42.99. I beleive this will be their price...but I'm not sure yet. I know if you buy IN-STORE you get a free $5 magazine

Ok, I'm almost positive this is the price. The other 9/21 releases are already on sale on the site (Mean girls will be $15.99...just an example)

I think I still may try Best Buy anyways....going to TRY and use the MADDEN 20% off coupon.

$42.99-20% = $34.xx

If you wait 'til the week of 9/26 it will be $39.99 (before coupon). All depends if you want to save an extra $2.50 (after coupon) or so for a week's wait and also ditch the free magazine.
