Ok, I just noticed these as my son is getting older and it brought me back to my childhood. I picked up a TaunTaun at TARGET for like $7 and I also got Darth Vader and R2D2 at the Toys R Us sale this week.

Anyone know of any other deals? What are the harder to find ones?

Just picked up WOOOF from Amazon for $5.99 shipped....PRIME.

Not bad...cheapest one on there that I could find with PRIME shipping.

LoL I saw this thread and thought it was about the original release stuff. Still have all of mine.

I Picked up an original TaunTaun and X-wing for .50 cents at a yard sale last summer!
hey double down, are you interested in about 40 Episode 1 figures?
Are they sealed? I'm only looking for the VINTAGE COLLECTION stuff (black packaging).
I have a boatload for sale in my trade list if you're interested.
Looks like those are not the Vintage Collection....the ones in black packaging.

Those aren't part of the vintage collection, they're just the shitty old poor articulation/sculpts figures.
I noticed REBELSCUM.com....do they post deals and whatnot there also?
Normally they have news about weekly sales and a lot of stuff on the forums. Also they have forums by region that people report what stores they've found what in. It's helped me a lot in the past.
yeah. I have some original also, but now that I have a son, collecting again
I started collecting again when Episode I came out, I have a box full of sealed Episode I figures that probably everyone has. I stopped when I realized that Lucas was going to keep producing tons of this stuff.

WalMart has the figures on clearance for $4! I picked up Obi Wan, Qui Jon and a Rebel commander. I probably would've never bought them, but for the price, why not.

God, this thread reminds me that I have a literal fuckton of SW memorabilia... Glasses, figures, books, games, statues, etc. You name it, I have it! Really need to get rid of it, lol...

I have every action figure from the Power of the Force line until the 30th Aniversary line...when I bought the same Han Solo figure 4 times in the same year with different packaging.

Was fun while it lasted, but now I have over 100+ bankers boxes that are pretty much worthless...market is just so oversaturated.

And the prices of Star Cases...yikes!

The store FIVE BELOW has some of the VINTAGE collection figures for $5.

They had basically the entire WAVE 4 and Darth Vader and Sandtroopers

I picked up a few:
- Darth Vader
- Sandtrooper
- Kit Fisto
- Zam Wessel
- Peasant PAdme
- Jango Fett

Not bad.....although, I'm curious if these will resell in the future if I leave them in the box or if that opportunity flew the coup since there are a LOT more people doing that now (unlike have the 1978 ones boxed).

I really doubt many of the current toys wil be worth anything in the years to come. There are just to many people "collecting" them now, hoping that they appreciate in value like the old 70's and early 80's stuff did. The reason the original stuff is actually worth anything is because there was so little of it that was actually collected, left sealed and un-used. Not to mention that production levels on the new stuff is 10,000x greater than that of the original stuff.

If you are buying figures to collect with your kids for fun that's great but don't buy them as some sort of investment.

Yeah, I'm not buying to resell...although, some of the harder to find ones you can make an easy $20 on them right now since Hasbro apparently has not been great on distribution on these (I just started with the Vintage stuff, so I'm not sure)

I have left them on the CARD for now, since I think they look cool like that. Although, I do have some duplicates now since I got some good deals on a few.

Some of the high-demand figures still fetch good money, good money being $30-70ish. A lot of the Extended Universe/video game figures go for the most.
I finally decided to start selling some of my SW stuff that I had stored away, bunch of stuff I even forgot I had.
How's it doing?

doubledown - if you want these to fetch a pretty penny in the future I would go for unpunched cards. Yes, they're harder to find but that's why some are already selling for decent prices even though the figures themselves are reasonably easy to find. I have a manager friend at TJ Maxx put aside all the figures they get before they punch them so I get unpunched carded figures for $4.99. TJ Maxx also has easy to remove price stickers because price stickers or residue hurts your value as well.
