It's because those were Desura keys. Desura keys are seen as less valuable than Steam keys, don't have card drops that sell for money AND connect to an account (telling you who took the key if you try to use a previously redeemed one).

We've had a few Desura witch-hunts, and I guess the lurkers don't like that.

DAMN. this is the Steam Code Drop thread. so tried to redeem them on steam using every combination i can think of and ran out of attempts. LOL

after reading your question for few times i was so confused and curious. so i messed around with steam and origin clients and managed to get the cd key from steam and redeem it on origin. i never knew about this. sry for redeeming the origin code. truth is the origin version is the one i want most. not the steam version. coz i had dead space 1 and 3 on origin. with this now i have the complete dead space collection. wish i could give you the steam version...

Steam hides an Origin key in the registry for most EA games when you play them for the first time. You can then use that code to redeem the game on Origin...sometimes. Doesn't work in reverse though.

when u select a game in ur steam library, on the right side under 'LINKS' u get an option 'CD Key' for some games. different game cd keys for different game clients. after i redeemed the steam key for dead space 2 i had this option and that key was for origin...
