So, is Direct2Drive sending some sort of actual "transfer account" link?  It sounded like they are but I haven't seen anything yet despite getting the promo email about the contest.

Check your e-mail tied to your GameFly account.

You should have something there already.

Basically - you sign into D2D w/ your GameFly account and follow instructions that wind-up in your e-mail; reset your password; and good to go from there.

Pretty basic from there.

EDIT:

New D2D Site -> https://www.direct2drive.com/

Support for D2D -> https://support.direct2drive.com/

It's basically a FPS Diablo. Incredibly fun and addicting. The first playthrough is really easy, second playthrough is challenging enough to keep you on your toes, but not too hard. Third playthrough where you enter ultimate vault hunter mode is where the real challenge is. It's kind of a shock when you first start, but you get used to it.

Basically, the first playthrough is easy, and the biggest downside to BL2 is you have to invest 30 hours before you even get to anything that can really be considered much of a challenge, although if you don't do any sidequests in the first playthrough, you'll still die occasionally (here and there to bosses, getting careless with mobs, toward the end of the game where you fight more advanced enemies more often, etc).
This sounds awesome.

I received the promo email as well, but no transfer email as of yet.
I have 3 Gamefly accounts and not a single password reset email for any of them. Going on 4 hours.

edit: Spank my ass and call me Sharon. As soon as I dropped this post, so did an email. God I hope these Gems are shiny.

Didn't get the mail but that worked. Shows my Gamefly digital purchases under "My Games" and all that. Thanks.

What is the problem with that?
"On Sale" -> "No games found"

Sweet!

Ah, I wasn't aware of the history of Direct2Drive until I just researched it a little.

So IGN created Direct2Drive, Gamefly bought Direct2Drive and a bunch of people lost games in the transfer to Gamefly. Now Gamefly are transferring the business BACK to Direct2Drive, which they own.

Sounds legit.

EDIT: NO WAIT! Gamefly sold their digital download business to AtGames Holdings. I guess along with that they sold the Direct2Drive name.

Still sounds legit.

Hrm. There's no record of my original Direct2Drive purchases in my account info, but the games I bought back in the day are still there.

do u have as 1 deluxe would it 85% off so u know if u need ask alot of cag prolly has 10% addditon
Oh thanks for the heads up. That makes it even better. Tryin' to decide if the "deluxe edition" is worth it. Seems like a lot of fluff. It's only a $.75 difference though. Hmm...seems like they're finally releasing a single player skirmish dlc soon. Lookin' forward to it.

There's NOTHING about Gems when I log-in to this D2D account. boo hiss

I don't know what the fuck you just said little kid, but you touch a brother's heart.
the person who got ban bc of that before my ass?

Yeah I have AS1 so I got the 85% off. Decided to get the deluxe since the price difference wasn't much.

Welp. Went through my recent bundles, added games that got keys and I actually wanted, and well

That's... something.

Congratulations on keeping shitty developers cranking out crap games by buying absolutely anything put in front of you :D/
Far from that. I buy bundles, but don't activate anything that I don't want to - or intend to ever - play. Not anymore. If I did, I'd be closer to 1800 games. Maybe more.

There are a few stragglers in my game list like Gratuitous Space Battles but for the most part, my collection is all stuff I'd like to play some day.

But...cards!

I checked my Groupees and Indie Royale pages for any unredeemed and / or greenlit games, not including any big-company stuff that I already own at GOG... and the final tally according to Steam was 1112 games.

It depressed me looking at both sites and seeing so many games that have been greenlit, yet haven't gotten a Steam release... or stuff that never really had a chance to get greenlit.

Bleh.

Again? WTF? They already did this once already. What the hell are they gonna leave us to listen to?

Oh well. Looks like I'm only ever going to listen to the User Track Player from now on.

Ugh!

Nope nevermind. It just crashes with Vice City. So much for that idea.

But... there's already "New Audio" versions that had their songs removed. We old owners got to keep the songs.

If they're going to remove the audio from old owners then something else must be going on. Maybe they're being forced to do this to everyone?
Yeah this smells more like shady music industry bullshit rather than shady game industry bullshit.
