I've got an extra NA Steam key for Dead Island from a Gamersgate's cheap 4-pack last week - they neglected to mention that it was region-locked (!) and will only work in North America and "RoW" (which apparently means Asia), so my British chum couldn't activate it.

Actually "RoW" means Rest Of World, in other words; it is region free :)

Make your friend try to activate it, if it failed it will still be unused and he can try a VPN just to activate it and it will work fine after that

"NA/RoW" in this case means "North America And The Rest Of The World Except The Locked Places" (which from a bit of research, seems to include the UK, Germany and Sweden). :)

What kind of an idiot region-locks a PC game!? :booty:
