Title sums it up, but i'll yammer on for a bit anyway.

Steam does weekend deals all the time (almost every weekend something has a minor discount). Many times it's 10% off a current game, or an upcoming new release... SOMETIMES, it's 50% off or more. In this case, it's 50% and more, in a way.

Gumboy is 9.99 normally on steam, and the Tournament game is 19.99. You can still buy them both at this price, or buy the combo pack for 29.99 (yes, buying them together costs you 1 cent more normaly).

However, this weekend, 30 bucks becomes 5 (or if you only plan to play the first one for some odd reason, 10 becomes 5, which is still very worthwhile). One of their more significant deals, and a win was had by all.

The game is a silly casual platformer, well worth the 5 bucks if you spend even 1 hour playing it.

Sometimes steam will offer these great deals, like the recent Id games super pack for 35 bucks(currently dead, but likely to come back as another weekend deal in the future). Includes 20 old games (commander keen/doom/quake/1-2-3/etc...), but what made it worth it to me, was both Doom3 and the expansion were part of it.

QFT

For $5 I figured what the hell, I played it some last night and it's actually pretty fun, with beautiful graphics and an interesting physics system. Definitely worth $5.
Okay, wtf is QFT? It has so many meanings it gives me a headache.

Also, any real impressions of this? :(
QFT means "quoted for truth". It used to be a way of preserving someone's statement in case said statement was deleted or edited, but now it generally just means "lol i agree".

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll bite for $5 bucks. The screenshots look interesting, and I was looking something to add to my list of Steam games.

Thank god steam finally put something lame up for sale. I've been going broke the last few weeks with all of the nutty sales. ...we need a few more weekends of crappy deals so I can save some $ ;-)

id super pack
Beyone G&E
Bioshock
Tank Universal

Ctrl accelerates you. So holding right will be slower than ctrl+right.

For $5, the game seems all right, but I can't take the awkwardness of the controls. Not for me.

QTF, but I don't feel as though I wasted my money. I have a feeling this will be cool on a rainy day.

I'm in the same boat.

Over the past few weeks I've bought:

iD Superpack
Bioshock
SiN
Red Orchestra
Trackmania United Forever
Portal

and those are just the ones from the weekend deals.

Although with GOG.com and S.T.A.L.K.E.R/The Witcher coming out soon, I'm going to be one poor bastard (with alot of great games!)

i too am relieved it was nothing of interest to me. just got a new 360 and a new gamefly subscription so i've got those games to burn through plus all the id superpack, audiosurf, demigod beta, etc. i still have to beat crysis and rainbow six vegas 2 for crying out loud! STOP RELEASING SO MANY GOOD GAMES SO CLOSE TOGETHER!!
