STEEL BATALLION for only $99

They do have a website at http://www.mediaplay.com/ . A search for "STEEL BATALLION" on the 'Games' section of their site only turns up 'Line of Contact', unfortunately. It's possible they made have it buried elsewhere on the site, but I wasn't able to find it in any particularly obvious place.
 
I have to agree, a search for Steel Battalion only brings up the new Line of Contact. I have searched MediaPlay, Suncoast, and Sam Goody.

yup just got back from media play on my lunch and saw that. I just snagged the last 1. Damn what a nice deal. EB games (online) has preorders for the same package for 199.99 for game and controller. And the preorders are for may. I'll take mine right now for half the price. If I don't like the game I'm sure I will have no problems selling it.

Yeah, I don't think there are any in Knoxville, at least there weren't when I lived there. There are 2 or 3 here in Nashville.
 
I called the only one within 100 miles of me. It's 13 miles from work. The kid said they had some and he didn't know how much. I said "some?" he said he had at least two. I didn't ask him to check to make sure he had 'em and I didn't have him check the price. I'm a gambler. I'll head down in about 15 minutes and be back home in about an hour and a half and let you all know what happened.

There are at least 3 within 15 minutes of me, if anyone is having problems finding one in their area, I can look into the availabilty this weekend. The video game section is just eh, so supplies are probably limited to like 1-2 per store if any.

EDIT: on second thought maybe you can pick one up, and trade me something for it, I'd be willing to part with quite a feww games from my list for it :)

There was one left at the Madison store. I had promised Diiz that I'd check this weekend and buy it to sell to him, but if you another CAG gets it, I hope he'll understand. I haven't checked 100 Oaks or Hickory Hollow.

They're owned by the same company so it's possible, but to be honest I've seen Steel Battalion at the local Sam Goody.
 
I got the last one at my store. The employee set aside 1 for himself. I had to get back to work and I wanted to make sure I had the money before I got it. I called back 30 minutes after I got back. He had sold 1 in that 40 minute time frame from when i was at the store to when I called back. He told me he would hold the last one till they close for me. I just got home with it and my first impressions of this game are pretty good. The controller is awesome.

Let me tell what else was awesome....... carrying that huge box a half mile in the sun back to my car (paid for parking near my job, and would lose my spot and have to pay again if it took it out on lunch). In these circumstances I would say the walk was worth it tho. I was extremely lucky to get this game, I know it wouldn't have lasted till the end of the day if I didn't get it. Best deal I've got in a long time.

1) You had posted that it was $70 at yours. Someone asked which Media Play it was.

2) 3 months later, you responded (Appleton, Wisconsin).

3) One week later (April 16th, 12:24 AM) I posted within that thread, thanking you, because based on your post, I decided to check my Media Play, and found out it was $99. I also posted it in another Steel Battalion related thread, and Diiz, seeing my posts, started a new request thread asking for someone near a Media Play to pick it up for him.

So, proper credit for finding the deal had been given at one point, anyway.
 
I just wanted to let some of you know that Media Play in the Bay Area (Great Mall) sold out all SB. So don't brother to waste your time to go down there. A guy who work there told me that all SB sold out 2 months ago and he does not know anything about the deal. Damn. It took me an hour to get there....anyway, I did spend that a hundred dollar on some anime DVD.
