It's somewhat sad that just a few days ago they had a young soldier on C-span who had lost his arm in Iraq. He was describing the Stryker vehicle as a great armored vehicle. Yet is was in that stryker, after a roadside bomb exploded, that he lost his arm.

"On the vehicle's outside, some crews have put sand-filled tin cans around a gunner's hatch that the report says is ill-protected."

He was standing at the gunners hatch when the bomb went off.

Classified study says Stryker puts troops at risk
I thought going into foreign countries that didn't want you there on a quest for oil put our troops at risk....
Ahh, well spoken by someone who obviously is oblivious to what's truly going on in the world. I have spoken with a couple dozen men who've returned from time in Iraq. Every single last one of them said they were thanked on numerous occasions by the people of Iraq, simply for being there.

Sure, there are terrorists and insurgents who dont want our government there, but there are redneck militias that don't want our government here.

I can agree with you on the fact that we are welcomed by some people, they are happy that a dictator does not control their lives, but their is a thin line between protector and occupator. The longer we stay there, the quicker we are wearing out are welcome. More and more people will not want our government there it is inevitable.
