I'm sort of confused on how recruiting in suikoden 3 works.

Are characters missable? I've read that all characters are obtainable and have no window for recruitment, I've also read that some characters aren't obtainable if you select the inncorect dialogue options.

Also, I've only just begun 1 characters chapters, but does recruiting take place after I've finished the chapters for each character first, or will each character have certain characters they can find only in their chapter, and if so, once you finish the chapter, are the characters no longer obtainable?

The way the manual describes the trinity system is a bit confusing.

Oh, also, what does the stat Rsp do? I can't find a listing of the stats in the manual, unless I'm blind.

Anywho, yes there are missable characters. Yes, you can recruit some of the characters in later chapters after meeting them in an earlier one.

Most recruitments will happen automatically or after travelling w/ you for a bit. If a character doesn't join you, either you aren't meeting the current requirements for them or you're too soon in the story for them to join (remember where they are though). There's also characters that will just join you following the events of the story (normally near the end of the chapter).

If I recall though, if you can still find the character, you should still be able to recruit them...
