IGN: How does 100,000 Microsoft Points sound? That, along with a free year of Xbox Live Gold and an Xbox 360 Elite console, is the top prize in Microsoft's Summer of Arcade promotion that begins this week. To enter, simply play the trial or full version of one of the five featured Summer of Arcade games. Two runners up will snag 10,000 Microsoft Points and a free year of Xbox Live Gold and give weekly winners will get 4,000 points. For the official rules, go here.

The Summer of Arcade kicks off this week the first game in the promotion, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2. It will be released July 30 for 800 Microsoft Points. The other four games in the promotion and their release dates are listed below. Each, if history is any indication, will carry an 800 Microsoft Point price tag.
  • August 6: Braid
  • August 13: Bionic Commando: Rearmed
  • August 20: Galaga Legions
  • August 27: Castle Crashers
Remember, you only have to play the trial versions of each game to be entered. And am I the only one that finds it funny that you one of the prizes is a console that everyone entering the contest presumably already has?
 
Wow, the 100,000 points would certainly be nice. I was already planning on buying GW2 and BC:R, so I will only to download the trials for the other games. Thanks for pointing this out, OP.
