COORESPONDING THREAD IN THE TRADING FORUM

I've always wanted to do my own Super Bowl Pool and I was thinking of a fun way to do one that didn't involve money changing hands.

Here's what I propose:

A standard 25 slot pool as such (Numbers and slots will be randomized):

.......................................COLTS.........................................
__________[1,0]___[2,9]____[3,8]____[4,7]____[5,6]__
B_[1,0]__|_______|______|_______|_______|_______|
E_[2,9]__|_______|______|_______|_______|_______|
A_[3,8]__|_______|______|_______|_______|_______|
R_[4,7]__|_______|______|_______|___X___|_______|
S_[5,6]__|_______|______|_______|_______|_______|

In this kind of pool, you have to match up the last digit of each team's score on the grid.

So let's say that the score was Colts 17 Bears 14, You would look on the grid for 7 on the colts side and 4 on the bears side, the space where those two numbers meet would be the winning space and if your name is in that space, you win! I've put an X in that space for reference.

But instead of playing for cash, we play for games.

To get a slot on the board, you have to pledge a game to the overall prize pool.

For example, If I were to pledge a copy of God of War, I would get a random spot on the grid, and then my game would go into the prize pool.

We'd wait for all the prizes to be pledged, and then draw for spots.

Watch the game, and then winners would be decided by the score of the actual game at the end of each quarter and the final score.

The prizes would then be given out as follows(EDITED 1/27):

Final Score Winner - 10 picks from the pool
Third Quarter Winner - 5 picks
Halftime Winner - 5 picks
First Quarter Winner - 5 picks

The FINAL SCORE WINNER WOULD GET THE FIRST FIVE PICKS FROM THE PRIZE POOL. After those picks are determined, the other prizes will be awarded in a draft style format:

Overall Winner_____1st Quarter Winner____HalfTime Winner____3rd Quarter Winner___
Pick #9......................Pick #8...........................Pick #7......................Pick #6.........................
Pick #10....................Pick #11.........................Pick #12....................Pick #13.......................
Pick #17....................Pick #16.........................Pick #15....................Pick #14.......................
Pick #18....................Pick #19.........................Pick #20....................Pick #21.......................
Pick #25....................Pick #24.........................Pick #23....................Pick #22.......................

Then each player in the pool would then ship out the winning player(s) games to them.

I hope that makes sense. Does it sound like fun? If you want to get in on this, please post your pledge game. I think we should limit it to one entry per person, and I suggest a minimum retail value of $20, and no shitty games either, make them something you'd actually want to win.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

NATURALLY I'M IN FOR A SPACE

I PLEDGE: A New Sealed Destroy All Humans for PS2

EDIT: I'm Changing my pledge game to a choice of two PSP games, Dungeon Seige and Loco Roco.

You should make it so the people playing must have good feedback. Sounds fun, but it's not worth the risk :D

There's really no risk at all (well, besides the winners not getting their promised games.)

There is a risk. If I put a game up and lose, I'm out a game :hot:

What does that have to do with feedback? You lost, so their honesty matters not since you won't get anything anyway.

Huh? What I said first was that he should restrict it to people with feedback. I thought that would be obvious. It's KIND OF like a trade. If they have little to no feedback, they generally send first?

And I was saying I don't want to play because of the risk of losing a game.
so to clarify, the spots are randomly drawn?

would a sealed copy of Atelier iris 2 (ps2) be adequate to pledge?
That would be great!

And yes, the spots would be randomly drawn.

cool, then put me down for a spot with atelier Iris 2....one last question, what happens if all spots are not filled in time?

Good question. We'd probably just have to call it off if we can't fill all the slots, but I'm open to other suggestions.
