Pretty hefty download size, but the graphics are awesome.
The whole flying through the city was easier than I thought
it would be.

It appears the "Army Of Two" was just new to me sorry.

Also noticed a new "Army Of Two" trailer.
Awesome thanks for the information.

Wow this game is great! Flying is awesome, great controls with that. Hitting sonic boom is nice. having to watch collateral damage is neat plus. Little things are nice like after the fight there was an injured citizen on the ground, walk over, and I had to fly him to an ambulance.

This was a day 1 purchase already, and now with no regrets. Move over Spider-Man 2

Considering its size, it downloaded pretty quickly for me. Maybe people are avoiding it? LOL.

Impressions:

Pretty decent. The tone of the game isn't dramatic like the movie, but more like the comics.

Is a superpower missing from the demo, though? You have the breath control, heat vision, and frost breath mapped to the left, up, and right D-pad (respectively). What about down?

Also, the combos reminds me of the PSX Spider-Man games, which is not bad, but still a little hit or miss.

"Their armor was no match for Superman" - Cheesiest end of mission message so far.

Whenever I think of Superman in videogame form I think of crap. Superman 64 was that bad. I'll DL this tonight and check it out though because I love Superman in a totally hetero way even though he wears tighters and you can see his junk buldge.

Shadow of Apokolips wasn't too bad. I hope this one does well...the gameplay trailer looked pretty good.

It's definitely fun, I'll give it that much... every single super-hero game should be a sandbox from now on.

Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, and now Superman looks to be awesome and they are all sandbox games.

I'm still learning the ropes, and while the graphics aren't "omg blow you away amazing" the scope of the game is definitely awesome.

The demo isn't time, they just restrict you to four islands... flying is AWESOME.

I'm not sure if it's a $60 Day 1 purchase, though.

I really don't like the whole saving citizens thing... it's time consuming and dosen't serve a point in the demo, espically since like 10 of them get injured in a fight.
Demo is good but they could have done a better job with the voice acting:puke:
Haha, yeah, that sucks too.

Should have just gotten the guy who does the voice for Superman on the animated series.

I like this game but I think $60 is a bit over the line for this, espically since Best Buy has the PS2 version for $20 on Black Friday.

This game actually didn't turn out to be garbage, I'm impressed! Definitely fun, but not a day one purchase.

Minor gripe: Could they not get the license to the music from the movie(s)?

I don't think they wanted to spend the extra money on it.

I think if this one came out for $40 or something I'd be all over it.

After playing so many games built for the 360, I can't shake the feeling that this is merely ported over from the current gen instead of really taking advantage of the 360's power.

Wow, finally a Superman game that doesn't suck!! The demo surprised me in a good way, though my expectations weren't very high. Like Roufuss said, if this was $40 I'd pick this up on Tuesday. If this had been built from the ground up for the 360, $60 would be worth it. With R6:V, the BK games and the Wii launch, I'll wait it out. Maybe as Christmas gets closer a deal for this will pop up somewhere.

The main thing that's stopping me is that the PS2 version is $20 at Best Buy on Black Friday... I'm not sure if slightly improved graphics and achievements are worth an extra $40.

Tough decisions... is there an achievement list for this game someplace? If the achievements were awesome I'd re-think it.

Superman's cape moves kind of weird, too.

From what I had read about this game, they spent a lot of effort making the 360 quite a bit different. I don't think they just slapped on some extra performance and shinier graphics, it's supposedly A LOT bigger and more impressive as a game. Only time will prove that though.

I guess I'll have to wait for reviews then.... you wouldn't happen to know WHAT they made different, do you?

I also don't like how you can fly at insane speeds yet you can't fly through a building, you only crash into it and stop. I wanted to fly straight through a building

The demo is fun but it ends way too quickly. I'm pretty torn about this game now =/

With the movie coming out the following week, maybe there will be a deal then. BB usually has a buy X movie with the game get $X off.

Damn, I thought the movie came out WITH the game, I was excited because I could finally catch the movie next week too ;)

Haha, Superman runs funny when he's on the ground too, like he has a stick up his ass.

I think at this point I'm just being picky, but hey, I'm still playing the demo, so that's a good sign ;)

:) I'll have to check that out!

Yeah I'll be giving it another go in a bit. I do admit that the giant boss fight looks like it could be fun. Hopefully there's enough variety in the missions to keep the game fresh.

You know what else is awesome, going to a crowded street and using the super breath power, it's just like that scene from Superman 2 where Zod is blowing everything for like 10 minutes

I hope there is random non storyline things to stop like robberies, similar to Spider-Man 2.

It also looks like you can't grab an enemy and fly into the air with them... I wanted to throw an enemy clear across the city.

I can't specifically remember.... but looking back at a few articles, it's obvious that the 360 build is really all they have shown.
I wonder what EA has up it's sleeve in terms of DLC for 'ol Supes? Costumes? Missions?
Maybe costumes... Supes has changed his look much throughout the years though. IGN preview says he has classic, grey (???... I think the show it in the previews though when you beat the demo) and a secret one.

Would be cool if Electric Superman showed up ;)

I just used the breath to blow Metallo like 500 feet up into the air and landed clear across the city
Bizarro mode seems cool.

Anyone that has played the demo, can you demolish any building as superman, or at least fly through them?
From a few posts up:

I also don't like how you can fly at insane speeds yet you can't fly through a building, you only crash into it and stop. I wanted to fly straight through a building

So no, can't demolish buildings, can't fly through them.

Maybe later on you can demolish buildings but I can't do it in the demo, and I've tried.

Oops

Hmm... I just noticed Target has this for $50 on BF. With the $10 gift card from VP that knocks the price down to $40! Might pick it up with a couple of $16 DVD sets!

The movie the showed after the demo was awesome.
You fight Mr. Mxyzptlk (and in sorcerer form, not imp) in some kind of arena, Darkseid on Apokolips, play as Bizarro, and I forget what else.

Take the shittiest parts of Spiderman 2 plus the medicore parts of Hulk, mix it all together and you have Superman Returns.

I can't believe so many people are posting good impressions of it.

Wait, where did you see Darkseid? I'm assuming you don't mean Mongul since you know your Superman stuff, but I watched that video twice and didn't see Darkseid.

My bad; I mistook Mongul and Warworld and Darkseid and Apokolips. I didn't realize how similar all Supe's baddies are. You're got Metallo and Brainiac, Bizarro and The Kryptonite Man, I still feel dumb though.

Wait, Brainiac was there? I guess I didn't see him, the most familar Brainiac I know is the one from the cartoon

Man, I got super excited hearing about Darkseid too ;) I wish they weren't following the movie at all and just made this game based solely on the comics.
Demo was pretty terrible

Awful rip-off of many other better games, tiny environment, frustrating controls, lack of interactivity
Tiny environment?! 80 square miles is tiny?

The controls deffinately have a learning curve, but after about 45 minutes they felt pretty good, and have tons of deep combo-ness to them.

I don't see a learning curve. You have two movement choices, slow and fast. When you go fast you automatically move through objects/around buildings. When you go slow it's boring and you control like a tank. The combat is just like any other one of these games.

It is fun to just pick stuff up and blow up the city though.

The only thing I want to is if there are going to be things to do outside of the story and side quests... like in Spider-Man 2 how they had the robberies and rescuing people from the buildings, shit like that.

Superman Returns, from the previews I read, sounds more like there are story missions, and specific side quests to do (like the Bizarro thing) but nothing that gives the world some "life".
