Tales of Symphonia

I traded in a bunch of stuff at GR and i had about $70 so i got the deal where you get used games for $10 if you trade 2 games in. so i got MGS and MGS2 and Tales of Symphonia. Tales is one of my favorite games of all time. its so fun, addictive, and its hard enough, but not so hard that it gets boring. The combat system is unique and its LONG. ive played 30 hours and im still on the first disc. My friend got up around 75 hours just to get to the second disc!!!!! the plot is also pretty good and there are a lot of good plot twists. i defintately recommend you picking this one up.
P.S. i searched and couldnt find any posts about Tales.

It's true; there are so many twists in this storyline, it could rival FF7's storyline. Not to mention, a lot of shocking twists.

Great game. Took me 75 hours to beat it (first time through, no walkthrough).

It is a great game. It took me a little while to get into it, but after the first couple hours, I thought it was awesome

At first I was skeptical about the battle system. After playing for 5 minutes I loved it though.

Unfortunately good RPGs like this are so rare nowadays.

I played it for 3 hours so far. It reminded me of Skies of Arcadia (character-wise with the childlike selflesness care for ones life & carefree attitude). So I popped in Skies of Arcadia Legends, been playing that on and off since. Haven't felt hte desire to pop back in ToS yet. Don't know if I ever will.

I love the Tales battle systems, always have. But this game is probably the worst Tales of... game yet in terms of story. It's so predictable at the point I played to, reminds me of Grandia II. Great battle system (again as always Tales of...) but crap story. I hate when something happens in a game and I can tell myself "well now (this) is going to happen" and then it happens.

I wouldn't say I don't like Tales of Symphonia, just that it's not the best one in the series, nor 2nd or 3rd best. Better than Grandia II though...for what its worth. And I'd say better than Skies of Arcadia only because of the battle system, but Skies story is more fun to play.

Its a good rpg, the battle system isnt that unique especially if you have played other tales games, and the game takes about 50 hours to beat fully which is standard for most rpgs, also the story isnt so amazing it could have been better.
I loved it, I beat it in around 75 hours and enjoyed every part of it. Anyone think Baten Kaitos will be good?
It looks like Fable for GC as in overhyped

I traded Final Fantasy: CC for Tales, and the biggest difference is that I actually enjoy Tales. I just got to the 2nd disc, it takes me forever to play it though since I can only play it an hour or 2 at a time.

I hated the battle system until I got past the 1st area, then I got used to it and it's been clear sailing ever since.

I played it, beat it, and played it again. I never finished the second playthrough though. I'd really reccomend it. I put in about 90 hours over the summer in that game alone, excluding the time my power went out, loosing about 10 hours.

Great game, I thought the story was good and the story twists were unpredictable for me for the most part, especially near the end. Anyone see this new Tales game...Tales of something (forgot name, haha). Its coming out in Japan soon and made by namco. Its a classic 2d one but awesome visuals.

it is predictable on purpose, in the first 10 hours or so, then it takes a big turn and twist. you are missing out for sure if you've only played 3 hours.

Personally, I feel this game is the only RPG this generation that's truely great. FFX I liked quite a bit, but it wasn't all that special. Ever since Tales came out, it completely blew it out of the water. It feels like a PSOne RPG, but has the graphics of a next gen RPG.

This is the only RPG this generation that I have enjoyed the characters, story, music, battle system, and environments. It's truely a great game. Now if only the other RPGs this generation were as good (not including xbox western rpgs).

Just picked this one up today... er yesterday. Target had em for $23.44, and I used my 10% discount, so that worked out pretty darn good if you ask me, can't wait to get a chance to play it through. I did get a sample of the game awhile back, when I played about 2 hours or so of it with a friend, and it seemed to have potential.

I'm a huge RPG fan and i did love tales to begin with, but the storyline just doesn't keep your attention. I mean you stray so far to do little crap and rarely even progress in saving the world because a little girl can't talk. I would recomend borrowing from someone whe has it first.

I'm loving this game all over again. I can't tell you the countless times I have rented it. I picked it up BF for 23 bucks and some change at Target. One of my better purchases. Such an awesome game.

I still have a sealed copy waiting to be used. Hopefully once the Christmas season comes to a close I'll be able to devote some time to it.
