Target raincheck deals
If a game at target was on sale for $37 and i had a raincheck would i be able to use it on the $37.
Yes....

You know, I'm starting to get sick of people constantly talking about using the raincheck like it's the BB Gamer Gift Card. I mean, every once in a while isn't bad, but it seems to rear it's ugly head every time a new title comes out, people start mentioning the price it will be after an early Target raincheck.

Casual use of it is one thing. Blatant abuse is quite another. Here's a simple way to look at it... if you EVER get more than 2-3 rainchecks for a single title that you never intented to buy in the first place, You're abusing it.

i went into target and got 8 rain checks i dont think that is wrong cause i might go buy 8 copies of that game (since it was very very cheap and i can either give them as gifts or whatever)

really though i will probally use the 50% off any game on other stuff besides the game i got the rain check on but i wont be ever day buying stuff i be lucky to use 2 or 3 of them i just got them to get them heh heh

i have 4 41% off ones in my wallet as we speak, im gonna go use them all today... we arent abusing it, just giving it a run for its money (pun intended) LMAO

You go to Target and you see a game that is advertised but they dont have any copies. You ask the employee for a raincheck. He gives you 1. You can use it on anything in the video game dept. (including consoles) for the percent off it indicates (under Choose a Substitute). Its basically a coupon.

the raincheck deal

say a game runs 50 bucks and is on sale this week for 25 bucks all of the games are sold out so you get a rain check

rain check gives u 2 things

1. you can get that 50 buck game for 25 bucks when they get it back in stock up to 90 days or so

2. you can get any regular price game for 50% off (or whatever the saving was on the game that was on sale)

so you pick up the rain check and you can get any regular price game for 50% off so go in pick up the rain check and WHAMMM you can get madden 2005 for 25 bucks
sorry... but can someone tell me what is this raincheck that I've been hearing all this time?
When a game is on sale at Target for like 37.99, and it's out of stock, you could ask for a raincheck to get that game for the same cost or anyother game as a replacement with a certain percent off the total.

Edit: Damn slidecage beat me to it.

The part of this that is wrong is "killing the goose that lays the golden egg" . . . abuse the deal and corporate will close the loophole!!!!!!!!!!

Get one at a time use them occasionally or they will vanish.

Likewise with the bestbuy GGC coupon . . . when some jerk buys 10 for a penny each it is clear that coupons are being give away! What is the incentive for BB?

i will use them one at a time right now i got 8 48% off coupons that r good till sept 15 2004 but will only use 1-4 of them only games im looking at getting is

Nascar 2005
WWE the gamecube one
and maybe another one

i dont entend on using all 8 i just wanted to see what they was like : )

also i might use some of them to get the game itself (GTA COMBO PACK 21.99 is a great deal) that is what the coupon was for

I'm positive there is an easy joke here, judging by the loose grammar, dearth of punctuation and game choice. Of course, it would be wrong to say that.

Foresight is a gift some people lack. Either that, or they are just jerks that adhere to the "do unto others before they do unto you" mindset.
They figure it's best for them to get everything they can, while they can. It's these people that are usually the ones that get promos killed.

this might just be me, i personally don't care if people want to abuse this whole target raincheck thing but i am sick as hell about reading topics and posts about it

my suggestion TO THE MODERATORS: MAKE A STICKY ON THIS SUBJECT SO WE ARE ONLY ASSAULTED WITH THIS CRAP IN ONE SPOT ON THE BOARDS

seems a lot of targets r no longer doing rainchecks with % off just picked up a rain check today for Midnight club 2 and the rain check just says this rain check is good to pick up Midnight club 2 when it comes back in stock within 90 days

Well, if you think about it, that might be due to the fact that Midnight Club 2 was on sale for only 5 dollars off its regular price.

Just a guess.

nfl2k5 was 5 buks off few weeks back and they gave rainchecks for 21% off games it just seems the %% games is over with

o well wonder if they will still take them stuck with 4 41% off and 2 48% off nothing i want for 2 week until pS online 1-2 plus comes out will see if they take the 41% off thens off to cc to see if they got any 5 buck amas

Oh well it was coming soon eventually. I never took advantage of the rain check deals once, but whatever floats your boat.

I just got a percentage off raincheck for Spiderman 2 Saturday, wording wasn't any different than the raincheck I got for Madden a few months back, so YMMV.

50 or 51% Was 29.99 now 14.88 so probally it be 50 or 51% off

my store has 39 copies of it in so i dont expect to get or ask for any rain checks this week (will go back thursday and friday to see if they r gone ) and to see what is the Discount on the madden collectors

I think I'm going to have to make sure I use my rainchecks only one at a time, and go to different stores, just to keep it on the up and up.

I could drop all of them at once, but I think that wouldn't be cool.

And it doesn't surprise me if they did start to change the rules, the next one that I try to get will show how it is.

The terms of the rainchecks are probably YMMV. I just got my first raincheck there a couple days ago... luckily my Target seems to have the "good" version of the policy. The check clearly states that I have two options (get original game for the sale price or do the percentage switcharoo).

I guess the best way to do this is:

1) Scan the weekly target ad for a good sale
2) at the END of the week, go into a target and look through the glass case to see which titles are gone.
3) ask the cashier "do you have XXXXX?" they say "no," you ask for the raincheck.

I was all confused about this at first but after having done it, it really is quite easy. I was innocently trying to get Zelda Four Swords, and I only took one check, so I don't suppose I'm abusing or anything.
If a game at target was on sale for $37 and i had a raincheck would i be able to use it on the $37.
so you cannot use the rain check to get the same % off on a regular priced game say of 30 bucks or lower?

You can take the same percentage off from the REGULAR price.

So if, say, Mario Kart: DD was on sale for $39.99, you'd still take the percentage off from $50.

However, if it became player's choice or something and a universal price drop to $30 occurred, then you could take the percentage off the $30 (since that would be the new "regular" price).

Basically, you just wouldn't use the raincheck on a SALE price.

Please, if your Target still honors the "good" raincheck . . . don't exploit it!!

This is a great deal and is perfectly legal. But if stores are seeing people going overboard, they will eliminate it.

talked to a manager today about the rain check deal

they still do rain checks but moved them to the front of the store so u got to ask for them .. they have also limited the rain checks to 2 per person per day per title.

But the big reason i listed this is due to the Collector madden game They will not give out rain checks for this game cause its so limited

every store around me is sold out of the limited madden 2005 o well
