I'm so tired of this story, and I can't wait till it goes away.
The real villians here are the media who took a regular everyday occurance and turned it into a national fiasco so that they could have a "controversy" to report about. The best part is how they let anyone and everyone speak their mind and call Shiavo everything from a murderer to a thief without a shred of evidence.
What really bothers me is how it has already been proven in a court of law that Mr.Shiavo has the last word in this matter and that his wife IS brain dead yet the news continues to invite people to share what they think about Terri and if she really is brain dead based on year old videos and lies from her parents and friends.

Yeah, but don't forget that the Republicans and infamous Bush brothers also exploited the prejudices of their political base for personal gain (again). Congrats boys, you've sent millions of fine American soldiers off to their deaths in a battle for oil while you fight to keep a poor woman in a state of "living" hell. did anyone read that Tom Delay's father was brain dead and they (the family) ended his life ?
He claims it to be totally different, and while I know there is some difference, I just think it is ironic that he let his father die, and yet is fighting for some woman he does not even know

Her husband has the final word, the parents are bigger and bigger assholes each day.
My grandpa was the oppisite, he was almost completely out of it and the doctors said he was getting better, and he wasn't. So we had to agrue for him to be taken off the medical shit. He died peacefully at home. It's for the best for my grandpa and the husband knows it's best for his wife.
The parents make me sick.

This looks bad to us, but if they're not familiar with computers and spam it may have looked, to them, that they were simply helping a worthy cause and that the people would appreciate recieving this info.
I have to say I wish people would let her just die but I AM suspicious about Schiavo wanting Cremation immediately and see no problem with having her body examined before death. If he just wants to end that shit about him do it and it'll be over with, at least about him.

I thought the autopsy may be to protect himself. There's enough wackos out there who want to make his life miserable or even kill him, when the autopsy shows she was hopeless and wasn't aware, maybe he's hoping that it is less likely people will harm him. AAh millions of solidiers off to their deaths is a bit of an exaggeration sinc enot even two thousand have died yet.
If I'm in that situation that Terri is in I hope to hell they would pull the plug if she has any consciousness at all that has to be hell on earth. I wish they would kill her more humanely though starving to death is a brutal way to go.

That was a totally different situation. Delay's family didn't have to deal with the President, half of Congress and the Governor barging into a private family matter to make a mockery of dying with dignity.

I can't blame the media for this one. I've heard about this story off an on for the past few years everytime the parents would take the matter to court. This didn't blow up into a big national story until the Republicans got involved. They have gone to unprecedented lengths to overturn Michael Schiavo's wishes. They came in from vacation to pass a law just for this case. They've been grandstanding for the past few weeks while polls are showing that 70-80% of the population is against them. This is the GOP paying back the far right wing of the party for getting them elected. At one point Jeb Bush was going to swoop in and take custody of her until he realized that there would be a clash between the state and local cops. This private family tragedy has been turned into a national media circus and it could have important ramifications in the next election. The Republicans are showing how little they care for the rule of law, family and state rights. The media would be negligent if they didn't report it. The media didn't create this frenzy (unlike Scott Peterson and JonBent Ramsey), they just covered it.
I'm not saying the coverage has been perfect. I wish from the beginning that the news would have stressed how out of touch the right-to-lifers were with public sentiment. From the early reports you would have thought everyone wanted Terri to stay on the feeding tube forever.

I'm sick of hearing about Terri. This should have never been in the news, and IMO the GOP should never have gotten involved. I think her parents are being cruel to Terri because she told her husband she didn't want to live as a vegetable and they forced her to live as a vegetable, and now they are selling out their supporters.
