Tetris question?

Ok, I went to my local thrift store and I went directly to the electronics and something caught my eye, yep tetris (nintendo version for the nes)and it's factory sealed and it was only $1 (I bought it :) ). Would this fetch alot of money on ebay considering anything that is factory sealed usually does?
 
Opened ones sell from .01 ( :shock: ) to about $12.00.
It's not rare by any stretch. But for a dollar, I'd buy it and put it in a shadowbox for display on my wall. Then I'd throw little sticky darts at it, in retribution for removing the significantly better Tengen version from the market.

If they have more then one, I'll gladly pay you a little extra to pick one up for me.

I have seen a lot of older games, even crappy games go for high amounts on Ebay just because they're sealed. I think this is going to pass though so if you want to sell it on Ebay do it now. My guess is you might get 40-50 bucks for it. Not bad for $1.
 
Well I ask, because I saw on tips & tricks magazine the auction section, they had a casual nes game that was factory sealed go on ebay for over $100 :shock: .

I'll be quite impressed if you get $100 for a sealed copy of Nintendo Tetris for NES. This game is quite common, so I doubt you'll get anywhere near that, unfortunately. Still, it's a good deal for $1 sealed.

I don't see you getting 100 either, like I said I think it'll top out at 40-50. Still like I said I think this is just a phase many ebayers are going through buying sealed old games for high prices so if you're selling it do it now. Let us know what you get if you do.
 
Tengen Tetris is valuable though. Don't know why (maybe there weren't many made?) but a sealed Tengen Tetris would probably be worth some coin. Found one completed one for a new Tengen, went for $75. I'm actually a bit surprised it didn't fetch more than that.

Anyway practically any sealed NES game would probably attract some interest on eBay. I'm also suprised one of the sealed NES Tetris Yoshi found only went for $16. Though if you look he filled in his additional details as 'Used' (not 'New') Dumbass.

Also WTF!? He has a line on his description:"On Nov-29-02 at 20:49:18 PST, seller added the following information:"

Nov 29th 2002??!! Dude must have whatever auction management/listing program he use set to insert that line on every auction. Why does he put a bogus 'Added on' section? Weird.

I think it might have been because Nintendo sued to stop production of the Tengen version to produce their own. Also I've heard that the Tengen version is much better.

I just think it's rarer, not really better. I mean think about it, Tetris can really only be so good, there isn't going to be much difference in two NES versions. Although I think the end scene of mode B (where you have to finish 25 lines) has different people in the Tengen version, that might be a reason it's worth more.
 
Actually, Tengen Tetris is "better" than the Nintendo version because Tengen includes a head-to-head two-player mode. Nintendo's NES Tetris is strictly a one player (at a time anyway) affair.
