Im hoping someone here can help me with this.
I have a an i7 and 5870, ive been able to run everything pretty much maxed without issue so far.

I noticed some textures being low resolution when i installed borderlands recently, the weapons specifically, it looks like they they have a low-res base texture and nothing else.
outside of AA and AF everything is maxed, i think those are but i cant recall 100%

I installed starcraft 2 this morning and it auto set itself to ultra setting on everything. the textures look a lot like the guns in borderlands. the characters during missions look fine but the textures on the map dont, also anytime a close up is done between missions it looks terrible, the edges of everything look alright but the textures are awful. when i click the pictures on the bar wall to enlarge they are so pixelated I cant see what they are.

the cutscene with the hyperion leaving the first planet looks very very bad, it looks like the textures arent loading, while the mutalisks in the same cutscene look alright.

I recall seeing that scene in the scaling video and what im getting looks at lot like the low end side of the screen.

I was running the 10.4 drivers and upgraded to 10.8 or whatever was just release and it made no change.

Ive googled without luck and searched through toms gpu forum without anything either.
anybody have any ideas?
Have you checked CCC's settings? It may be trying to override some in game settings. Other than that, I'm stumped.
yeah i double checked that and everything is slave to games settings. i havent noticed anything like this with any other games.
its very odd, I havent had any luck searching other pc forums or search engines.
just to make sure im not seeing a problem that isnt there, those picture dont look right for having settings maxed do they?

Do you have the ati catalyst control center or whatever it is installed also? If you do uninstall it.

If you did have it installed I reccomend uninstalling everything ati, dont click to restart your pc, delete the ati folder on your c: drive, go into device manager and uninstall the video card, then reboot your pc and install the new drivers. But make sure you download just the drivers and not the whole package thing.

Your welcome.

The CCC is ok if your a power user or need it to fix some oddball specific issue but for most people its useless. Some games dont like it, or on occasion it may have a glitch or something that forces the game into lower resolutions or whatnot and thus forces CCC to change it system wide for all games.

Ive never liked it, I just download just the straight video driver and nothing else.
