Well after starting out with just 3 trade-ins (Burnout 3, Time Splitters Future Perfect, and Turok Evolution) I have ended up with an endless supply of games. When I traded those games in, I took advantage of the "Buy 10 for $25.00" deal. I bought them at one store and traded them in at another store. Always putting my credit on a gift card. After all was said and done, I had $367.00 in trade in credit. I understand they modified the deal now. But before they did I traded in one more time. So I pre-orded and bought the hell out of games and DVDs yesterday. Thanks again GameRush! EBGames is Gay!

They wouldn't let me pre-order a 360. They said they can't sell a pre-order until a price is confirmed. I think it's total BS. Oh, well at least I made out like a bandit. They offered the deals and I used them. Because of this I will be a customer for life!
 
Well I traded in my 3 games and got the credit for them. Then they had a deal, trade in 3 games and get ANY used game for $5.00. So I picked out the most expensive game I could find so I could get the most trade-in value for it. They also had a deal where all $4.99 games were "Buy 10 get them for $25.00" So I got 10 NON-sport games. After all of this I took my 10 games, traded in 9 at another GameRush and got 3 pre-owned games for $15.00 total. Then I took those 3 used expensive games to the oter GameRush and got over $100.00 in credit. I did this roughly 5 times. That how I got all the credit and games. The two GameRush stores are only 10 miles appart. So it was fairly easy. But now both GameRush stores only have sports titles. So the 10 for $25.00 deal is gone for me. Thats how you do it. And if you do not have two GameRush stores close by, some people do a thing called FLIPPING. That is where they get the deals at GameRush, turn around, walk back in and reap the credits. You can do that, but most likley they will hate you and flag your account. Lucky for me I have friends in high places :)
 
I'm not looking to flip between GRs. I'm just trying to figure out a way to get a PS2 and/or Nintendo DS while spending as little money as possible since, well, I don't have any. Thanks for the explanation, though.

Check at Hollywood Video, I found 4 copies of Starwars: Republic Commando for $9.99 each. They had a deal on " 4 for $20" on games $9.99 or less. Traded those at GR and, BAM $120 after spending $20 dollars. YMMV as they were marked $44.99 when I went back to check for more. At the same Hoolywood I got Metroid Prime 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Mortal Kombat Deception for $9.99 a few months ago.

that's a sometime problem with CAG . . . a one in a million deal gets posted . . . getting everyone excited.

As for the OP, I hate you :) there isn't one GR within 100 miles of me . . . maybe 200 miles. I don't know of any in the midwest. I've been thinking for the past year . . . "maybe I'll get one near here soon"

To have 2 within 10 miles . . . you suck!
 
Sorry schultzed, maybe one day you can get these unbelivable deals. Anyone else have any luck with GameRush during all of these deals?

I'm not sure what to think about your 'deal'. It looks like you ripped GR off... I think you also violated the T.O.S. that you sign when you trade in games... a GR ban coming your way?
 
why does every one talk about getting banned? I do trades like this all the time never do they say anything about it. In fact the encourage me to do more. They have trade qoutas to fill every month. I personally help them get their goals! Anyways great job op. If they are going to offer these deals then tak advantage of them! The whole point of these awsome deals is to get people out of eb and gamestop. It worked for me. I haven't shopped in eb/gamestop in over a year now. Gamerush is my onley stop. I trade in 6 old crappy games and walk out with 5 brand new games. two very brand new and three po ed . Can't beat that!
 
Yeah I friend of mine is the manager at the GameRush in my area. He said it is perfectly legal, and have to honor their deals. I did absolutly nothing wrong, and abided by their rules. I know BB had to have lost some money because of the multiple deals they were offering, but hey, they offered and I traded by their rules. They are a multi million dollar company. They are not going to go under because of this. I think they will be alright. As for a ban on my account, not gonna happen anytime soon. GameRush rocks, EB sucks ....s......:)

You must be in the wrong part of the midwest ;) I have three within five minutes from my residence, including the one right across the street. Yet I've never got into all this flipping stuff... I guess I'm just too lazy. That, or I don't want to get banned for life when I get caught.

You can only get banned if the Manager suspects shady dealings from you or if your account is audited. Usually it is audited if you have more than $500.00 in you account, or if your account has a significant increase of funds in your account. Pre orders and pre sells will not effect your account. If you are banned, you just cannot trade games anymore. Some managers will let you rent, but sometimes they will not let you even do that if you are banned. You are allowed to buy from BB. If the Manager on duty has it out for you, he or she, might even ban you from comming in the store. If you are a frequent FLIPPER, most of the time you will piss off a manager and they will ban you until further notice, or ban you until the deal is over. They do this by flagging your account. You can spend your credits, but can no longer add credits or trade. GameRush still has alot of bugs to work out with their deals. They are just too good. Hopefully they will get to the point where they will make money and please their customers. Lets just hope they don't ass rape you on trade-ins like EB does in the future.
 
Im glad that you were able to take advantage of the deals. However, this is why a lot of BBs are stoping stoping the trade-in deals. Right now, I cannot get any deals on trade-in's in my area. BB seems to be getting tired of being bunt on their own deals and the more we continue to take advantage of them, the less likely we will see more promotions in the future.
 
People who do this are a bunch of jackasses. People are going to keep on and Keep on doing this, then when the stores go out of business, you are going to cry and know understand why
 
Um...there's a thread on these deals already, and the 3 for 5$ game was stopped because so many people took advantage of it. I did the same thing and got three copies of GT4, then Kotor II, Paper Mario 2, Pikimin 2, Metroid Prime 2, Ninja Gaiden, etc.
 
The only problem I have come across is lack of good titles for $5.00. But if you are nice some of the employees will "HELP" you out. Keep that in mind. And don't be an ass. Maybe you can walk out of there with a few good titles.
 
Anytime there is a post of this nature, some people flame the OP and start lamenting that the deals are going to dry up. Generally, it seems to come from jealousy that they themselves couldn't do the same. He isn't even flipping the titles at the same location! As the OP said, GameRush has a customer for life now, which is what the liberal deals and trade value policies were intended to do. Maybe he aggressively pursued the deals, but he did nothing explicity more "wrong" than anyone else. Is it wrong to get an extra $5 for Madden 2002, which NOBODY will ever buy, or sell a crap game like Drake, which you wouldn't want your worst enemy to play? Save the flames for something besides envy.

Not to condone true homophobia, but isn't "gay" changing its meaning for a younger generation? It used to mean "exuberantly happy" before it was adopted by homosexuals, and I often hear it used by younger kids in a context to mean "stupid," rather than anything overtly sexual.
 
Thank you adamsappel. That's all that I was trying to say. As for EB games being gay. Yeah I mean that they are stupid. And most of their employees are fan boys who think they know everything. At least in my area. I wonder if they have even talked to a girl in their life......without using a credit card number? :)

Damn it! Where else is lacking a Game Rush. I'm totaly looking forward to one opening up here in Las Vegas and if there's one close enough to my house I'm totally going to work there.
