Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

I traded in my PS5 version of Peraona Tactica yesterday towards Tales of Grace F Remastered for $28. I only put $5 down but I may see if I have anything else worth trading in.

If the $25 off $250 works on the PS5 Fortnite bundle I may grab one for my daughter. I price matched a digital PS5 Slim last weekend for $330. If I can get the disc version for $400 after the $25 off then I’ll grab that instead.

$25 off does not officially apply to PS5 consoles some have gotten them to apply it manually, but it will not apply by default as PS5s are excluded. But always worth a try!

Thank you for the reply! It didn’t work on the Fortnite bundle a month ago but worked on the regular PS5 Slim. I’ll have to be on the lookout for a disc drive for this digital PS5.

My local Gamestop is closing after burglary.

Same thing happened to the Richmond, Ca location last year. They ended up repairing and reopening a few weeks later. And then they closed this year (although fwiw i think the building owner jacked rent up super high as other businesses closed as well).

Also not sure if it was used here, but apparently Kias were being used to do these as they are allegedly easy to boost.

got an order in just now with metaphor on ps5. paired it with dead rising remake and dragon's dogma 2. been waiting for dragon's dogma to drop below $30 but if it did anywhere i missed it. I saw astro bot in stock again so they keep trickling in. also saw dragon quest 3 remake on ps5 in stock for about a second

Just grabbed the same 3, thanks for posting about Metaphor. Was hoping to grab Warhammer, but looks like the price on that one went back up

Glad they caught the ones who committed the Christmas eve incident. Destroyed a store for only a couple 100 dollars of merchandise. The stores in my area keep all valuable merchandise locked in a secure room.

Yea they are high for sure this time unlike I feel like the Black Friday b2g1 I traded in some titles from then, and picked up some titles but honestly if I hadn’t gotten extra trade credit I probably would not have bought anything. Here are some titles that when buying a new title get boosted to $35.10, it’s not all of them but some of them.

$35.10 Titles After Boost

  • Mario and Luigi Brothership
  • Madden NFL 25 PS5
  • Spider Man 2
  • EA Sports College Football 25
  • Super Mario Odyssey
  • Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2
  • Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD
  • FC 25
  • New Super Mario Bros U
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • God of War Ragnarok
  • Modern Warfare 3 PS5
  • NHL 25
  • Rise of the Ronin
  • Epic Mickey Rebrushed
I’ll get $35 each if I trade Spider-Man 2 and God of War: Ragnarok? I have to preorder a game? Can I just put $5 down on the preorder and use the rest on the B2G1 pre owned deal?

Pretty decent TIVs depending on what you're sitting on. Miles morales (ps5) is shocking, I picked up that game multiple times for under 10. Still had some Ratchet, GOW (ps4) & GT7 (ps4) from the BBY sale I'll be getting rid of today. MW3 ps5, persona Tactica.

values have dropped, that list is wrong now. spiderman is $20 base now and ragnarok is $22, unless you have the ps4 version which is still $27.
Ok that makes more sense.

If I preorder a game do I get the 20% bonus? And do I still get the bonus if I only use $5 on the preorder and the rest on a B2G1 sale?

Noticing Shadow Generations XSX getting restocked periodically, but...that PS5 exclusive prologue animation tho...damn you, Sony!

Anyone get any good retro pickups with the B2G1? Online inventory isn’t great, and local GameStop’s always look at me like I’m killing their family when I ask about what retro games they have in stock in store.

Best solution is to go in store and investigate those games and see the condition. Buying from online inventory is like trying to win scratch tickets

I wish the GS.com site programmers or whoever would get off their laurels and add the preowned listing for the PS5 version already.
Not enough time since B2G1F ends tmrw! I actually asked in-store, and apparently only THEY have inventory data on which other stores have pre-owned copies. Guess Sony also signed off on brick-n-mortar exclusivity.

Unsure if this workaround actually works, but on the app: Shadow Generations XSX > Condition Pre-Owned > Platform PlayStation 5 > Edition Standard.

Any idea if the $5 coupon next month would work on the Mario Kart 8 DLC? Either in store on online?
Mario Kart 8 DLC is on sale right now at Target for $17.49. I is even cheaper if you have the Target Red/Circle card.

Yeah I know. Was wondering if I could stack the $5 on top. It’s on sale all over right now

Been sitting on Target giftcards for a long while, thank you for the news!

Edit: On second thought...just discovered that even using Target giftcards, despite being a Target Red/Circle cardholder, erases the 5% discount...if you're in CA, it now shows that you'll get taxed for DLC...

Edit 2: My mistake...had the address and zip code to a friend from another state. Sucks to be in MD and get taxed for DLC...no taxes charged in CA for DLC!

And speaking of CA, check out this neat place called BookOff. They have a HUGE selection of video games, including retro; however, they upmark prices to compete with the online market. Found some cheap gems:

[5.99] DmC Devil May Cry Definitive Edition XB1
[7.99] Hellmut PS4
[7.99] No Man's Sky PS4
[7.99] The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian 360 CIB
[19.99] Ninja Gaiden Black XBX CIB
[24.99] Prototype 2 Blackwatch Collector's Edition PS3 CIB {game and codes sealed}

All discs are flawless, surprisingly! Also, you can trade-in your video game and pop culture stuff with them for in-store credit.

I only know of Book-Off in SoCal, specifically one in Little Tokyo that I've been to. In the Bay Area, there are none that I know of.

I had the chance to visit a few Book Offs last time I was in LA and there was a great selection and I picked up some manga—that said, they definitely know what they have for the most part, but I’m sure stuff slips through the cracks. At least the East Bay has a few Half Price Books!

Half Price books doesn’t have any idea about what they have, so they just overprice everything now.
