Thanks for the update, just out of curiosity, do the games on the list work, or there a patch or something to get to work? I bought my dad Half Life 2 as a gift for his 360 I just want to know if it will work out of the box. Thanks

It's a really, really quick update. You just stick the title in, it'll say it needs to update, and it'll restart and boot up all on it's own. Very painless process.

Just make sure that you have the hard drive, of course.

Yes, unless you download the update from xbox.com and burn it to a cd.

They have this caveat on the official page:
To ensure the highest quality gaming experience, in the event that an unforeseen technical issue is discovered after hand certification is completed, Microsoft® reserves the right to remove any game name from this list. Please check back often to see the most current list of games.

Quite a number of games that had an unforeseen technical issue there, eh?

Do these games play perfectly or are there performance issues? Anyone tried a couple first hand?
 
I don't get it.

Mega Man Anniversary Collection was removed from the list but plays just fine.
Mortal Kombat: Deception was removed from the list and doesn't even boot up.

What the..? Deception was working good enough last month..

I just played through Buffy: Chaos Bleeds. Parts there would be slowdown. Not framerate probs, it would just go in slow motion. This was usually when entering through a door to another area. Maybe loading issue.

Yep, it's off the official page. Assuming you copied this today before you posted it... That sucker is moving fast.

The Splinter Cell Trilogy was maybe the biggest games off the original list IMO, so it's nice to see them added now.
 
Thanks, I was playing PINBALL HALL OF FAME and it worked fine until the race car table (can't remember the name) wouldn't give out ball #2. This game rules by the way. Best pinball game I ever played. I remember being psyched that it was on the bc list, I didn't know it was removed from that list. Hope they fix it.
 
List looks to be getting alittle better, and I hope we see alot of updates in January and Feb considering little is getting released for the 360 in those two months (College Hoops and possibly Top Spin and in January, while just Full Auto in Feb most likely).

Right now 22 out of my 126 games are backwards so MS has a long way to go. I was hoping they would work on all the Live games first, especially the 2d fighters.
 
so I got Far Cry for christmas and I don't see it on the list....i've already switched my live from my old xbox to the 360, and i still play live on the my old xbox or am i just SOL until Far Cry is BC?
 
ok, good...b/c i saw something while i was setting up the 360 that said something about once you switch your account you cannot switch it back or something...not sure actually b/c i was just excited and ready to get it going so reading wasn't my main priority.

does live fire right up on the old xbox?
 
same as always. plug in and go, from what I hear.

Far Cry online is better than any 360 game online, except maybe Perfect Dark. I can't wait until Far Cry is BC.
 
sweet...i got COD2 and PDZ, but i wanted to take far cry online as well....i've seen a TON of people on my friends list "online in Far Cry:Instincts" so tomorrow i'm going join in on the fun.

glad to know that all i need to do is switch the ethernet cable (hopefully).
