The End of Conservatives

He also squaks like a liberal.

He does have a point about criticism of bush from within the republican party, though. One slip of the tounge and you get 40 lashes or a walk on the plank from the blinder wearing GOP loyalists. But, the same could be said for the democrats. Nobody dares cross the party line, especially in a war, especially in an election year. Only now, campaigns seem to take 2 years instead of 8-9 months like they used to. So, every year's an election year.

You just proved his point. His point was that conservatives now do not follow true conservative values anymore, and if you don't agree with them, you are labelled anti-American and a liberal.

I have to agree with him, to an extent. Liberals do those things to, but not as much. Take this message board for example, with the exception of quackzilla (who I haven't seen in a while), who rivals scrub, pad, and now friday for the repeated bashing of people, not for beliefs or ideas, but simply for being liberal? Scrub can't go a sentence with referring to someone as liberal in a derogatory way, with the intent to make their argument invalid based solely on the fact they're liberal. Mainstream pundits, such as limbaugh, can defeat an argument simply by calling it liberal. If I didn't know any better, I would assume liberal meant evil or devil, considering on which term the context called for. A liberal politician can't even say liberal anymore, he has to call himself "progressive", as kerry did. Liberal was what his enemies called him when they wanted to attack him. Liberal and conservative are not as easy to pin down as neo-con, socialist etc.

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhh......yes, I agreed with the point of the topic in question. And yes, I don't believe the 'so-called' conservatives have anything in common with conservative values. They just want to get elected like any other politician and will say anything to anybody to get their share of the pie.
