So yesterday afternoon I was walking across campus when I noticed one of those gameshow-style cash grab cubes with floating money inside. As I got closer, I realized that the money was fake. It was part of a booth sponsored by Microsoft to promote some of their new products.
A man was hosting the event and invited me to try my luck with the cash grabber. I would be given fifteen seconds to grab as many bills as I could hang on to. Of the few hundred inside, around fifty were marked with green stickers, twenty with yellow, and one with pink. After trying, I was somehow lucky enough to end up with the pink-stickered bill.
As a result, I won the grand prize: a brand new/sealed copy of Office Ultimate 2007, which is $679.99 on bestbuy.com.
I don't have any particular need for the software since I'm pretty comfortable with Office 2003, but I definitely appreciate the opportunity to sell it. While I doubt I'll get anywhere near that full retail price, even a couple hundred from an eBay sale would be pretty outstanding since it would entirely be profit.
It's nice to finally benefit from one of these campus events!
