The future of retro game prices?

That, some LOGO malarchy involving a rabbit, and the RPG-length Carmen San Diego are the only things I remember from old school PC gaming.
Not sure what this means, but afterburner climax is an arcade game for all that don't know, unfortunately my local arcades do not have it to play.
He said that because After Burner Climax was recently announced as a downloadable title on PSN and XBL.

I can only echo the sentiments of my peers. I don't like the current model of digital distribution. Paying full price for something that I don't technically own is ridiculous to me, and most consumers. Steam is nice, but that's PC-only, and that's something I have no interest in.

I own a physical copy of Afterburner for PSP, so I am happy. I can assume the game is similar to AB climax that was released for the arcades and will be released soon on XBL and PSN.

Yeah no interest in PC games here either but I can see why people are interested in them, while keeping an old console that can hook up to a TV is no big deal to me keeping a large beast of a computer from 1995 or before for most people is impractical if you want to play the old games. So DD or emulation is pretty much the only way in those cases. These computers are way past their useful life and they continuously break down with parts being very hard to find unless you have a massive stash you built up over the years and a lot of space to keep old computers. Consoles are very simple in design and most of the older ones do not break down that often. You only need one TV and you can hook them all up. I know tons of people who still have the NES but none in my area that still have an Apple II E or a computer from 1995 laying around.

GOG.com is the future.

emulation on pc is easy and having software independant of HW or OS is a good thing.

I would assume that future installs with Steam games will take action if it's not currently supported in an OS from either Apple or Microsoft.
