The Movie "Annapolis"

Stryffe2004

CAGiversary!
I keep seeing the commercial for this movie. Does anyone know if this is a re-make of an Officer and a Gentleman? If not, it looks like someone needs a good attorney. . .

Actually if it's the same movie I recall hearing about a couple months ago it focuses alot around boxing and some kid working his way up in the naval academy somehow. I haven't seen the commercial but to be honest it's not unlike studios to market a film in trailers and commercials outside the actual feel or design of the film, especially if they feel it will somehow bring in a certain audience. They probably cut a comercial to look like An officer and a Gentleman on purpose trying to bring in some of the audience from that movie.

There is a naval weapon station near here and the Citadel so every weekend we get lots of members of the military at the theater. I imagine this movie will do well here, then again many of the cadets I talk with didn't like Jarhead. I know its an entirely different type of movie, but its an example of a movie you think would do well but doesn't. Not as bad as how King Kong didn't even sell out, but Narnia did, here though.
The commercial I saw reminded me of Top Gun.
Haha that is what I thought. I expected it to say Top Gun II at the end.

I guess nowadays if a movie is not a sequel, prequel, remake, or based ona book/videogame/tv show then it must just be ripping off some other movie.

The movie, from its trailers at least, reminded me of a cross between Top Gun, An Officer and a Gentleman, and maybe A Few Good Men.
