I shoulda held out =(

I got 2k for mine, as long as it goes through (buyer has 91 pos feedback, but bought ANOTHER system at 1600..makes me wonder). so not too bad for 15 minutes in line for a preorder.

Here's a question, how does a chargeback work? I mean, it'd be idiotic just to allow everyone to do a chargeback whenever and get away with a ton of free stuff.

They call up their credit card company, whine and complain a whole lot, ???, profit.

Whatever you do take ALL precautions when shipping. Personally i would use UPS or FED EX over USPS on this one. Make them sign for it, etc. etc. etc.

If they recieve a brand new system and try to do a chargeback there are ways to fight it, just make sure you have TONS of proof they got what they bought.

That would really suck, but I've already talked to the guy on the phone by requestion contact information through paypal to confirm everything. I talked to him and he seems honest and pretty reliable. He's an architect in Houston, and is getting married soon as well. He picked my auction cuz I was getting married, and he is too, so he understands how expensive it can get. He just really wanted one by sat. and I was one of the last remaining hopes for a sat. delivery.

If he ends up screwing me, I WILL literally become his stalker. He's given me his phone number, work number, and address. I will call his work, I will call his house non stop if he screws me. It will get ugly.

I've been ebaying a looong time. All the precautions were taken. Confirmed address, delivery and signature confirmation w/ insurance. Etc. This is a guaranteed sell if I ever saw one. If he's not honest, I don't know who is anymore. 65 feedback, and talked to HIM PERSONALLY ON THE PHONE to confirm good will, and know his work and home numbers, along w/ his work and home addresses. This will get nasty if he ends up being a fraud.

Alright, back to the original purpose of the thread. What's everyone getting! What's the haul??

No you sold it well. A search for completed listings shows the majority going for $1000 to $1300. That $3700 from the OP seems like a major anamoly.

It was not a major anomaly at the time. When my auction ended, prices were 3,500-4,500 w/ highly reliable bidders. As in the bidders were power sellers were perfect feedback. It's all in the time when your auction ended. Mine was the only BIN listed, and the nearest other BIN was 8 hours way at the time.

That reminds me EXACTLY of that one story of the dude who was playing the online game where you build spaceships and kill each other and scammed a bunch of people out of a ton of money on it. He said he had like a some important job, a daughter, wife, and all this other stuff. He gave them all his phone number which wasn't his, it was the libraries or something and screwed them all and they couldn't do shit.

I sold my two on craigslist for 1750 each. Me and my girlfriend preordered at ebgames and waited in line for 3 hours.

In all, I received 54 emails. I had posted it 3 days prior for 950. I increased to 2k for the pair, then 2500 for the pair and was ecstatic. The original guy wanted to pick it up at 5pm, and I knew he'd see that the market bottomed out and wouldn't pay the 2500. Then, at 9:30 the morning of, I got an email for 3k for the pair and called the guy. Then called my original guy, back and forth until the new guy gave me 3500 cash. He picked it up in front of the mall where there were dozens of people(safety). But, he was a real class act anyways, and I immediately went to the bank that was 200 yards away.

The guy was some investor from SC. I feel kinda bad, theres no way he made more than 1750.

I called the number 3 different times about an hour apart, so he was still there each time. So it's still very possible, but lowers the probability. I'll keep everyone up todate as to whether this was the real deal or a scam. I've already pulled the money out of my paypal account however, just in case.

$2500 including a free game and free overnight shipping. Have the money. Shipped to a confirmed address with signature confirmation, tracking, and insurance. She only had 4 feedback but noticed that I requested all bidders under 5 feedback contact me before bidding and we exchanged emails before I allowed her to bid. Sentence fragments galore.

The prices have really dipped now, though.

Preorders went from $2,000 to $2,500.

Tuesday through Friday they were getting up past $3,500.

Now they're just around $1,000.

Man, I hate how your credit doesn't get posted to your account over the weekend from Paypal. They don't waste time debiting from your account, that's for sure.
I hate you all.

Damn it, why did I have to be number NINE in line at gamestop when they cut their units down to EIGHT.
I sorta feel ypur pain. I'm #9 for Wii preorders, but they're (Gamecrazy in this case) only getting 8

I think it was EVE Online. The story was classic, well worth a read:

I got $2400.00 total for a 60GB, one game, and a $6.00 HDMI cable I got from Monoprice.com. The buyer paid as soon as the auction was over via Paypal, I shipped it out first thing this morning to him.

wth, the postal open on sunday?

It sold late afternoon yesterday so I shipped it out this morning which last time I checked was still Saturday.

yesterday morning/afternoon was the sweet spot for this apparently.

now 60gb are getting 1250-1500 (still a nice profit) and I just saw a 20gb go for $850

I sold mine for $2300 + 50 shipped. 60gb, exra wireless controller, 3 games, 1 year gamecrazy warranty. $1200 profit after all ebay and paypal expenses.

i got fucked, got mine at 8 am (West coast) but was already late for work, so i went to work, came home at 1 (again Pacific time) posted it on ebay, and by that time it was flooded... it didnt sell, so i sold it to my negithbor for 1500 bucks.. which isnt bad but im disabpointed i didnt post it right when i got home... it has a controller, and 2 games...

ive seen a few on ebay go for less then retail lol.

I love the ebay auctions that have the $600 system for sale in the thousands, yet still say "comes with "FREE game and shipping". I'd say those are included somewhere in the thousands of dollars. :)

Sold mine for 1800 + shipping on Friday morning. Was a 60GB unit, with two games.

The seller backed out, however, but gave me 250 for my troubles (since he called me after the auction and begged me to ship it overnight on Saturday, which I reluctantly agreed to, and ended up working my ass off Friday night to get the thing ready to ship). He also agreed to do a mutual Upaid item dispute, which gave me my ebay fees back.

After that, I sold the thing for 1250 + shipping. Gonna ship Monday. I had some luck, since my friend has two 60GB systems with two games a piece and an extra controller, and hasn't sold them yet. A customer who works in our store offered him a 50 inch plasma HDTV for it, and I think he bit.

Lol you'd think.

I kept mine.

Anyone ACTUALLY get their money? Paypal says the transfer to ym account is complete, but it hasn't posted to my account yet. I'll check tommorow, and if the funds are there, I'll ship the item out.

got 910 for my 20gb. Really shouldve posted it 2 days ago right when I picked it up, or even earlier.

I only had to wait 2 hours for that one so i'm not too peeved.

Not too bad I guess. I'm just anxious that the guy will try to back out of it, but I'm hoping since the status is already "complete" to my bank account on PayPal, that he can't just take his money back. After fees I'll be up almost $1200.

there is no proof you have that you sent them a system. ALL they have to do is say

I opened it up and there wasnt a system inside instead it was a pS2

then your #$##$## cause there is no way to Prove a Ps3 was in that box
