Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Well the OP still has stuff from 2010 so I'm sure popular games have been restocked since then.
When I worked at Target from 2007 to 2009 in the electronics dept., we would regularly clearence games out only to restock them at full price 3 months later. It made no sense at all. Fortunately it meant that I could get 1 or 2 month old games for about $30 or less on a regular basis because I would just hide me a copy in the backroom. I would leave the others out to mark down then just grab one for myself and wait for the clearence people to do their job. It was great.

That's going to make you very popular around here!

They took this seriously as all hell at my store. Was fireable for even suspicion, they've caught people doing it with high ticket items to resell (tvs and such) in the past and pressed charges.

But what can you do? People are shitty.

Went to target at lunch. Assassins creed 2 for PS3 had no price tag and was on the clearance rack. I scanned it, it was out of the system. I had an employee scan it, 7.48.
What time does Target mark down electronics? Curious to see if that Acer will go lower today, or next week.
Whenever the markdown team gets around to it...YMMV for every store.

The times they mark down are on a per store basis. I've seen it anywhere from first open to late afternoon at the same store.

For the scanners, one of the good things to come out of fresh groceries upgrade at my local target is the newer scanners. Ours don't have the numbers on the face, but if you hit the right most button it will bring up a enter DCPI screen which you touch enter the numbers. Works slick.

I love the newer scanners, but they worry me due to their fragile nature. It's only a matter of time before the LCD's are all cracked/smashed from careless customers or their evil children. If you take a look at their 2nd gen scanners (the one with buttons) where I live, the buttons are almost always vandalized.

and they one that alway vandalized is near the electronic section. so you have to walk all the way to the other side to use the working one

I've been known to stick a pencil tip into the one with a missing button, so I can key in DPCI's. lol.

So, lots of fun stories about scanners, not so much news on good finds today...

I hate when you go to the ones where all the buttons work except the 0 or the enter button. They look physically fine but they don't work. And it's always the ones near the electronics. That straight pisses me off every time.
Went to target at lunch. Assassins creed 2 for PS3 had no price tag and was on the clearance rack. I scanned it, it was out of the system. I had an employee scan it, 7.48.
Definite YMMV for assassins creed 2. The local target here actually has it as part of the b1g1 50 off sale at 19.99 this week.

Also, doesn't seem like any prices have dropped this week and nothing from what I could see added to clearance.

I had a dream about finding good clearance games at Target.

Resident Evil 5 (360) - $5.00 (Some hoarder was trying to get away with 3 copies)
Halo Reach Legendary - $10.01
Metro 2033 (360) - $3.74

Then there was a separate bin with $8 games
Fallout New Vegas (360)
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (360)
Just Cause 2 (360)
Bioshock 2 (360)

Again this was just a dream I had. Would be amazing to find these at those prices though

Although in real life I found Monopoly Streets ($19.98) and Saints Row Double pack ($14.xx) and NBA 2k10 ($9.98)

My target has a stack of bioshock 2's for 7.48. I already own the game though.

RB3 bundle and Vanquish did not drop again at the store by work at 10:45 AM today(there were no newer games on the endcap, either). Will try by home later tonight.

Picked up one of the Acer netbooks at $124.48 this morning at a Target I don't regularly frequent, for anyone holding out hope for the 50% mark.

I'm done trying to figure out which Target has what price and when they put items on clearance. From experience, I know Targets can be close and have different prices.

Also, when I called a Target and asked a guy when items go on clearance, he said Sunday mornings. When I went to a different one from the one I called, the guy said items are clearanced on Tuesdays.

So, if a good clearance sale pops up, either I will get it or I won't. No rushing, unless someone mentions a certain/specific location. :)

I just updated the shit out of the op to sort everything by date, still needs some work which i am doing now so dont fuck it up lol

Thanks

EDIT: Also, we hsould really get rid of old stuff, i think 6 months is long enough to keep stuff around, any opinions on that?

Kungfu rider is down to $5 in St Augustine FL

It looks terrible but I couldn't resist.. Hoping that last copy of vanquish drops to 10 here, that was sort of my price point.

The tag said 64.98 but when I scanned it, it was 32. Once I opened it, the game was already open but it was in perfect condition so I kept it. Batteries and keyboard was fresh. DPCI 207-22-0531 , I also picked up Vanquish for 360 for 15.
Well held on to my $100 GC coupon for a PS3.

Picked up a PS3 with BLOPS for $308 with $160 in GC.

Pretty Awesome!
How did you pull this off? Did it require any kind of over ride to get either of the GC's???

Absolutely nothing new at my Target. May have been said already, but Target currently has 3 month XBL cards for $14.99 through 6/18.

Saw a Seagate 500 GB hard drive for $38.xx. They had Grease on the Wii on clearance. That's a new one to me. And a couple of copies of NCAA 10 on the 360 and NBA 2K10 on the PS3 and a copy of MAG. NCAA and NBA were still around $20.

Glen Burnie, MD. Go get it. I don't frequent there.

6 months should be fine IMO.

By that time, it might be too late. Just kidding.

Anyway, for me, I think my optimal routine is to check Target whenever I happen to be close to one, or whenever I see repeated finds in the thread (combined with the use of the DPCI checker). Basically, I'll either hit hard or completely miss.

From my experience, though, I never find anything that no one else hasn't mentioned. More less, it seems the stores near me won't have items on clearance if only a few people mention it here.

^^^ Two of my Targets sold through about seven copies (each) of Vanquish for $20.98. I mad.

Was really hoping to grab the game for $15, or maybe even $7.

But then about two nights ago, while going through Walmart, I saw they had clearanced their copies for the 360 to $20.

I had missed out on Target. I missed out on Newegg for even cheaper. At this point, it was one of those rare times when I said **** IT! I want this game, and just bought it for $20 at Walmart.

Definitely worth it. An absolutely awesome title.

Vanquish is still hovering at 14.xx at mine, been there for around three weeks now I guess.

I don't know how people finding all this stuff that scans lower than it's price too. In all my time looking at Target clearance on a regular basis (a few years now I guess) I have never found anything that scanned for less than it was marked at any Target.

No override needed for me, just got back from getting the BLKops bundle +$160 GC. Total was $308.xx

Why not separate the old titles with spoiler tags, or find some way to archive them? While the older titles might not be valid, it can still serve as a reference.

did you already have the $100 off coupon?
please say no and that theres still some magical way to get one..

Blah checked at 5 Targets around LA and Irvine - MvC3 SE for the PS3 still holding steady at $69.99. I've seen some people post $17.xx already in some parts of the country!!

FFF!!! I picked up the vanilla version yesterday, they didn't have the blops budle in stock and didn't even consider that it would work.

Lucky!

It's so hard having a Target near my work. Now, every Monday I'm tempted to drop by and see if games are lowered than before. Today, I managed to pick up Vanquish on 360 for 7.xx. I was tempted to get it last week since only 1 was left, but I thought I'd give it 1 more week. If it's their then I'll get it.

They have tons of Wolverine game on sale. I always wanted to try that game, but since they have a lot in stock I will wait for it to go down. Gonna try next week too for the MAG game. It's currently priced at 14.xx, but I don't really want to spend that much for a console game.

Game clearance is in the doldrums this week, and nothing ever gets to 90% anymore which really stinks.

Picked up 2 bottles of wine on clearance at 50%. They scan your drivers license strip, which is as irksome as ever.

So would it be right to assume then that buying JUST the black ops PS3 bundle would produce a $60 GC?

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks
