Today while i started playing feel the magic on my new nintendo DS i saw something that caught my eye. A dead friggin pixel. Not thinking anything of it i continued playing but i kept staring at it. So after i couldnt stand it any more i trucked down to the wal-mart i got it at. When i got there i went to customer service and told them i want to exchange it for the exact same thing because it was defective. I was told to go to electronics and get another one and bring it back up to customer service to preform the exchange. I got back to electronics and i didnt see any DS's where they were before. I went up to the associate standing at the electronics register and asked for one and he said something along these lines:

"sorry, we are sold out right now... some kid came at midnight and bought quite a few of them and there were barely any left. Now they are gone, so sorry, but i can't help ya."

that kid that bought quite a few was me :/ now i am stuck with the defective DS lol, it isnt too bad but now i have the little pixel staring me in the eye everytime i play a game on it, reminding me of how much of a dumbass I am.

Basically i want to say that it was dumb of me to make that barking up the wrong tree comment, it was meant as a joke and to not have caused such a big reaction (hence the w00t after the comment).Besides, what would i do... move your posts to someone elses threads?! or even worse... delete them! I have certianly learned my lesson on making comments that could have been taken the wrong way.

Now about the DS auction... It must have been pretty shitty to see someone you might look up to or expect more out of do something like this. I understand where you guys were comming from on that now, so dont expect to see any more of those crazy ass sales again!
 
I think this is a good step.


On a side note, you could at least get your money back from Wal-Mart, can't you?
 
I'm glad you did this Stealthy. I remit any and all of the harsh things I said about you or too you in the last few threads. You've shown that you have the capacity to see things in an alternate perspective, a trait not widely expressed in your age demographic. Thanks for being an awesome mod and listening to your constituents. :applause:

And as for the ebay stuff, maybe it's true that CAG isn't the best venue for MSRP auctions, but it's still noone's business but your own. Sell your stuff for however much you wanna sell it for. If noone buys it, so be it. But don't ever let anyone bully you into accepting less.

the DS has a 1 year warranty, they say that you should keep playing with the DS for a while to see if the pixel really bothers you. then they tell you about the traditional 'LCD' defects, like an occasional pixel or two will be defective. but if it does bother you, contact nintendo customer service and they will fix it for you free of charge.

If you still have some sealed ones, you could bust open one of those and play that until they get some more. Then, take your defective one and exchange that for a sealed one. Then, you'll have another sealed one since you had to bust open another one until you recieved the replacement. That would save you the trouble of contacting Nintendo about a replacement.

No kidding. He's what, 16? And he's tossing DS's and PSTwo's onto ebay willy-nilly. I was lucky to have $20 in my pocket when I was 16, let alone $150.
 
Makes me wonder about QC on the DS, if they're getting dead pixels in screens that small with that low resolution, when the 1920 x 1200 15.4" display panel in my laptop doesn't have a single one.

I don't know. I never bought something and returned it to buy again. :D . You could try what Ledhed said.

I also agree. I just personally wouldn't even advertise the auction here, for fear of being burned at the stake.

Spend wisely on buying more than one game console? Turn around and say you need money ASAP for paying for the DS you had on hold at WalMart and toss a bunch of games for sale in the trading forum to pay for them?

This must be a different definition of "wisely" I wasn't familiar with.
 
im 16...........i only have like 70 bucks in my wallet. and i do alot of selling games...........i just dont make a huge profit.

but damn stealthy...........you must save up forever, or you must have a good job.

Did you have to walk 15 miles up a hill (both ways!) barefoot in a snowstorm to get to work like I did? Kids these days, always taking things for granted. :oldman:

I know I wouldn't advertise an auction for something just out in here, like the DS or the PSTwo.

Then again, I wouldn't be buying multiple units and selling 'em. Seems like too much work and too much chance to get burned.

No, Methuselah, I didn't have to walk as far and as long as you did. I did my time for my crime at McDonald's, so I've had my share of hazard pay. Did your first paycheck buy you some snowshoes for all that walking? :cold: :cold: :cold:

dude, so what, make a shitload of $$$ off your sales and wait till next week to take yours back and get one with all their pixels intact. just keep playing the one u got now and get a frsh one next week. i called up 8 stores today and they were sold out or else i would have had like 5 of them up on ebay yesterday or today making $$$. shit those 5 auctions would have paid for my ds with the profit i would have made im pissed i cant do it u r sittin pretty.
