This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

I had all these grand plans to not buy PS4 for who knows how many years, cause PC is way better and there are no games for PS4, and all my other rationalizations...

Then I see a deal for PS Plus subscriptions, $33.89 instead of $50, and I went and bought two years worth. At least I'm getting DMC and Bioshock Infinite with it... but for PS3. I wanted to play those games, but not like this. Not like this.

PS4 gets Don't Starve though. To show off the hardware.

I got a PS3 on Black Friday to play some of those exclusives. The only thing I have done with it is watch half of Mission Impossible 4.

Still hoping to see Swapper or Dustforce to get some kind of "flash deal".

Probably the only couple indie games left I would buy that aren't in a bundle at the moment... and maybe Spelunky.

Okay, i'm conflicted.  Every bundle that pops up gets met with a chorus of WORST BUNDLE IN THE HISTORY OF BUNDLES OR AT LEAST THIS WEEK.

Yet we continually are advised to wait for games to be bundled....

If I wait for Spelunky to be bundled, will that game be tarnished by its own bundleness?

Dustforce isn't likely to be a daily/flash/community deal. It's not discounted at all. It's not a great game anyway, I didn't like it much. Swapper would be worth picking up though.

OMG.  I really hope Deadly Premonition wins.  Because I was on the fence at 50% off, but 60% off totally is like can't pass on it BUY BUY BUY.

*This post brought to you by sarcasm.

Dustforce is 6 bux at humble store. Its not gonna get dicounted at all due to the devs not wanting it to be on sale. It is a really good game though

Don't think I've ever been disappointed by a Humble Bundle. Unless I already owned the majority of games in it already.

idiot

Edit: During the flash sale, Call of Juarez + Blood Dragon bundle is 66% off...making it a tad above about 8 bucks

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is one of those games where whenever it goes on sale I wonder why I don't already own it. *clicks through to the store page*

"3rd-party DRM: SecuROM™
4 machine activation limit"

Oh right...that's why.

same here. I was even considering it over spelunky

In other news... crafted a globe badge and got "phased vauban warframe skin and helmet". Valued at almost $60... no, wait... $0.60

I think I'll keep it. I played Warframe a couple hours and was fun.

I own Spelunky on XBLA but would like to have it on the PC for the Daily Tasks, Mods and just the ability to play it on my laptop.

Do we have any leads of it perhaps being in an Indie Bundle or something sometime soon?

Apparently this was more likely to happen than you thought.

What are the odds? Hilarious that they would make this bundle the day after you posted how unlikely it was to ever occur. Not that I would have disagreed with you at the time seeing as your logic was perfectly reasonable.
It's a funny world we live in and Humble is trolling us with that BTA, Penny Arcade 3 was given out free previously and 4 just had a flash sale price of $1.49. The double pack is still selling on steam for $3.99, that is a dollar lesser and you get to pay with steam wallet.

The percentage off is completely up to the developer/publisher. Valve will ask and make suggestions but the devs/pubs have the ultimate say. So it isn't Valve or Steam that has some shitty discount but rather people like Bethesda and Capcom who are notoriously stingy with their sale prices.
Stingy with sale prices? Someone needs to dethrone the king - Activision. :whistle2:x

This is annoying to me too. I get the most recent DLC being more expensive, but all of it? I don't care for DLC, especially cosmetic ones, but my habit was to buy any and all DLC for games/devs I want to support if it hits 75% off. I've fallen way behind on my KF DLC because of this.

Isn't having the best price the only point of a sale? So if they don't, it's basically a failure? This isn't a brick and mortar where they can count on lazy people not wanting to drive to another store or wait in line elsewhere. I can just go to another URL just as easily.

And how many people does it need to fail in the "me factor" before it starts being a more general failure?
I have a feeling that they did this intentionally, like an hour flash sale for the dlcs. The same thing happened last year, what are the odds that lightning strike twice?

I guess it must be my lucky day, I managed to pick them up just a minute before they flipped the price, but even at 75% off, the few DLCs still cost like $10. I wish they will introduce mini DLCs pack in future so the price will be at a more acceptable range.

The PS Plus deal is at The Source (Canadian), expires after today. If I decide that it was a bad move I can try selling em or return em to the store.

Anyone know if Juarez is region locked?

I actually do think that an extra 10% off during a flash/daily versus the normal sale price is important in regards to games with GOTY/Deluxe/Ultra editions...cause I want the damn mega version for closer to the regular sale price damnit!
next months ps plus is gud...dont starve, bioshock infinite, brothers, and devil may cry

noice
Yeah but I'd have to lower myself to playing em on PS3 after I just spent $400 on my video card.

Splunky is such an awesome game and that is a great price point. I'm blaming indie bundles for spoiling me and making me hold off buying great indie games at nice 75% off price points (like Cook, Serve, Delicious, Splunky, and Miasmiata (on GoG)).

That and my backlog of games (still need to play Witcher and Witcher 2)

EDIT:

Deus Ex Director's Cut, however, pisses me off though. Great game if you never played it but the rerelease of a Director's cut verison on a game I've finished twice is maddening!

Sad thing is, I kinda want to buy it even though it's essentially the same game. But that $5 could go towards AntiChamber, Splunky or a good indie game.  :wall:

well you did just spend 66 bucks on ps plus...

and its free games. if i were you, i'd buy infinite for pc, just because the game is visually stunning. things like dont starve and brothers tho, i would play on ps3. same w/dmc, probably

$66..

That's like, 55-66 Steam indie games, or 30-40 Steam non-indies. Don't ask me how I came up with those numbers.

Biggest gamble with TDU2 is whether the servers will still be up by the time you get around to that 4th activation.

I love that game to death, and am pleasantly surprised whenever I decide to pick it back up (like tonight) and see that I still can log in.
