The Thugs of Your California Unions On Display

Yes. All unions are bad and should cease to exist. They do no good whatsoever.

Let us further base our generalizations on the actions of a few. While deplorable, those actions are, as we say in the field, not generalizable.

I also would challenge you to tell me that a pro-labor individual would not be subject to the same kind of physical and verbal ridicule at a Schwarzenegger rally? Shall we make generalizations about the American aristocracy if several Brooks Brothers-clad hottentots destroyed the pro-labor persons sign?

It's really bothersome when you take blatantly anomalous behavior (given that, at most, 8-10 people were *directly* threatening this woman) and apply it to an entire population of individuals. You want to claim that this is the status quo, when you seem to have blinded yourself to the other several hundred people who aren't hassling this woman. Brilliant.

Short version: this is a political rally; no matter whose side you are on, showing up to protest *will* elicit this kind of behavior. It's merely another day at the park.

I will point out that something should happen to that security guard; it is beyond her job to do that, and she ought be fired, fined, or something else. I imagine that it's very difficult to do, since it clearly is not a permanent job, but I will say that she is most certainly in the wrong.

Lastly, would you truly place this protestor (which is what she is, showing up at a rally opposed to her beliefs, and showing up fully aware that she is a numerical minority) into the category of unknowing victim, all the while you want to blast someone like Cindy Sheehan for doing the exact same thing (putting themselves in "harm's way," for want of a better phrase, to create the artificial sense of martyrdom in order to mobilize people who support the platform they espouse)?

The lens you view life through is exceptionally bothersome for someone your age.

If you actually think this behavior is anything but 100% typical of union gatherings with a dissenter in their midsts you're truly living in fantasy land.

Eh, it's a political rally. Common sense goes out the window and groupthink is suddenly instilled into everyone at a rally.

Were this union meeting to discuss finances and whatnot, then it would be a different story.

I won't argue that union actions go beyond legal and ethical; that's a moot point, however, in light of the fact that this is typical of dissenters at political rallies. So long as you want to ignore that fact, as well as the rest of my points above, you've no credibility.

Not that anyone who says something is "100% typical" has much to begin with. I call you out on overgeneralizing, and yet you respond with more of the same? You ought to be on talk radio, son. You're witnessing 8-10 people verbally and physically assault one person, and you're ignoring SEVERAL HUNDRED PEOPLE WHO AREN'T, and you're trying to tell me "this is typical"? The contradictory evidence is what you're showing us, PAD.

Let me simplify it for you: If you actually think this behavior is anything but 100% typical of ALL POLTICAL RALLIES with a dissenter in their midsts you're truly living in fantasy land.

maybe he means that is is 100% typical for 2% of union people to be be goons.

...... Of course of the 2% is is 60% typical for them to be verbally abusive while only 40% typical to be physically abusive. Of the 60%, it is 90% typical to use "fuck you" and only 10% to use nicer term "screw you"
Mykey, if you think I worry about the credibility I may or may not have in your mind.... yeah, the fantasy land thing.
With that in mind, I concede all my points. You win the debate.

I'll go you one better: Bush & Cheney wouldn't let anyone into their campaign speeches unless they signed a loyalty oath because Republicans are too lazy to harrass protesters.

This incident looked less violent than when Ann Coulter sicced College Republican goons on someone interrupting her speech. Both incidents were wrong.

That has to be the first time I've ever seen College Republicans and goons in the same sentence. Every CR I ever met was so wimpy and pussified that I was embarassed to admit I even ran across them. No, I was not a CR.

"Could 10 of the largest College Republicans start walking up and down the aisles and start removing anyone shouting?" Coulter asked. "Otherwise, this lecture is over."

Several people responded, leaving their seats to confront the hecklers, and verbal confrontations erupted in parts of the auditorium.

Coulter asks for the 10 biggest college republicans to remove people

Coulter received several standing ovations during her speech, but she also found herself interrupted several times by a small, scattered group of hecklers.

"I think there are some people in the audience who meant to be at the sexual reorientation class down the hall," Coulter said, in response to the heckling.

Moments later Coulter stopped and called for assistance from students when hecklers started in again and no one of authority was seen trying to stop them.

One of those who answered Coulter's call was Michael Conner, a Shawnee freshman.
I gotta go with PAD on his CR comment. They are pussies.
Unless they're frat boys. At my school frat boy is almost synonymous with Republican or college republican.
