Overstock has accidentally priced their pre-order for the Tomorrow People Set one at $6.50. Add a buck for shipping. The Retail price for this Pre-order due at the end of May is $80.

These price mistakes don't last long. So get in on it while you can. The last price mistake they had I got in on was for Joan of Arcadia Season 1 at $10.50 shipped.

Actually, this is the first season of the original version from England. I checked a website. Supposedly the original is a 70's British Show. That show was picked up and carried by Nick. Then in the 90's Nick ran a second series called the New Tomorrow People because the original repeats had become so sucessful on Nick.

I can only assume this is the first season of the original 70's series that was repeated on Nick.

Here's the Amazon.com Synopsis...

"Welcome to the next stage of human evolution. Not your everyday Homo sapiens, the Tomorrow People are Homo superiors, children with amazing powers--here in our world TODAY. Originally broadcast in the 1970s, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE introduced British television viewers to an instant cult classic in Sci-Fi adventuring. Imagine young Stephen's surprise when he learns he is actually one of the Tomorrow People, teenagers with powers of telekinesis, teleportation (called jaunting), and telepathy. Headquartered in a secret underground Lab and protected by the supercomputer Tim, the Tomorrow People look for the emergence of more of their kind and battle evil forces from the farthest reaches of space and time. Thought provoking, action packed, and creatively produced, this edition of THE TOMORROW PEOPLE contains all twenty-six episodes from the series' first two seasons on DVD for the first time. DVD Features: Commentary with Stars Nicholas Young, Peter Vaughn-Clarke, and Sammie Winmill on "The Slaves of Jedikiah"; Cast Biographies; Interactive Menu; Scene Selection"

and here's the cover art.

Btw, Amazon has this selling for $56.

I ignored this thread at first, because I misread it as 10% off retail. "90% off" would have gotten my attention. I remember watching this show on Nickelodeon as a kid, and I had absolutely no recollection of the name. I hope they deliver.
I don't know what this is and it probably wont be honored but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the deal OP.
I have a vague recollection of this show on Nick. Since it's a pre-order (releases 5/31), I expect the Big "O" to catch their mistake before then.

hey,

a quick question for someone w/experience w/overstock pre-order errors.

do they actually ship or should i expect a cancellation email in about a week (since the "launch date" is over two months in advance)

thx in advance!

You can expect Overstock to charge you the moment you place the order. If you get a cancellation later, they will refund your money.

thx for the heads up...i kinda figured that was the case since they are charging immediately for orders placed!

Good News, the Joan of Arcadia Box I ordered for $10 shipped this weekend. So there's a good shot that the Tomorrow People Set will ship at the end of the Month.

I checked overstock. ANd they said that they still have not received it. That it will not come in till 5/31/05. I wonder why you got confirmation djak. That is awesome news. What is everybody going to do with their DVD. Sell them, watch them, trade them?

I think that will depend on the reactions from the people here. If people say it's good, I'll watch it. If people say it sucks, I'd probably do something else with them.

I watched some of mine yesterday. To me, it seems like a cheesy 70's sci-fi show, but it's not too horrible if you're into that sort of thing.

Wow...I remember this show. Talk about a trip down memory lane! I remember the music most of all. I also remember the kid who uses his powers to open up locked doors.
Well I got my package today. Hopefully I'll find time this week to check it out.
Same here, just got the package today. It will probably be a couple on months before I get around to watching it, but you can't beat the price. Thanks again OP.

Just got mine today. I probably could have picked mine up earlier, but I was too lazy to check the mailbox. When I was opening the package, it ripped part of the plastic cover off (because the plastic was glued together with the invoice and closing of the box). Now I can't even sell it to somewhere else new (if i decide not the watch it). O well...

Or the best place to sell it. Most of the places that I called locally, Gamestop, GameRush said that it was not in their system. So they could not buy it from me. Thanks for the help

mark, they're probably not replying because they're too blinded by your sig to be able to read anything you say.
