Hopefully ending up a much better and more useful thread than the one I posted yesterday , here's a thread that might be useful to everyone.
Something that's kinda surprised me , is that despite it always coming up in the various Steam/Impulse/D2D/GOG sale threads , there is no documented list on hand (here at least) that helps PC gamers figure out what kind of DRM various games have. I'm hoping this thread might help change that (with help from various users here ideally , since my knowledge on the subject isn't the greatest).
I'm definitely open to ideas on the best and most efficient way to make this thread work , but what my plan is to make a bracketed listing , based off of how much/how intrusive the DRM a certain game is. That way you can see at a glance how much of a pain the game might be to deal with.
NO DRM
Some DRM (CD keys)
Heavy DRM (Securom , StarForce)
Activation DRM (Steam)
This is at least a starting point for the thread , and hopefully it can fine tuned to become a useful reference point for CAGs and non-CAGs alike. So good idea , bad idea , someone else already beat me to the punch with this idea?
