So this movie is coming out that is based on the guy on wall street who got rich by doing the pump and dump scam which if I paid enough attention while watching Boiler Room to understand it correctly, they make up fake companies, call up different people, convince them to invest in the company, then the company disappears, leaving the money to the "stockbrokers" and leaving the investors screwed.
I've always been fascinated with these kinds of scandals and it's great to see greedy, stupid people get
ed over and to see people make a fortune off of their losses.
has anyone here fallen prey to these kinds of phony investing schemes? or any pyramid schemes? I've been tempted to try the stock market before, but i hate the idea of stockbrokers and would rather just invest the money myself. if I go to casino, I don't need somebody telling me which cards to hold and which to fold.
