I actually agree about dreading Christmas. It's been a while since i've actually looked forward to it. On the other hand, spending is down a lot as it is, and we're a consumer based economy. Are these people trying to sink the economy even further?;)

Well, I'm not Christian, and couldn't care less about any Christian connotations, but I agree with the sentiment.

I don't dread Christmas, I like it, but the commercialism doesn't help.

Yes, it is one big Christian conspiracy to drive the economy into the ground.

But hey, I think it's a good idea. Instead of focusing on just buying buying buying it would be nice to see good things take place on Christmas, not just more consumerism. And ya, spending is down and that is because people are finally realizing they need to actually have some sort of savings to get them through life instead of just relying on a plastic card. I don't think consumer spending is going to skyrocket as a whole anytime soon, to many people are still worried about the what if factor in relationship to their job (as they should be). But hey, as a Christian more power to people that try to bring the focus of Christmas away from buy buy buy.
