Thinking of buying a refurbished HDTV - Yay or nay? Any experiences?

I'm trying to decide if I should buy a refurbished HDTV. From what I've seen in my research online, they seem to be a safe option (provided it is manufacturer refurbished, there is a return policy and a 30-90 day warranty on the item).

What do you think?

Does anyone have any experiences buying refurbished electronics - especially HDTVs? or game systems? Please share any legitimate and reliable sites which I might be able to make my purchase through as well.

All comments are welcome and are much appreciated. Thanks.

I bought a recertified Sharp Aquos from newegg earlier this year and it has been great so far. I did a lot of searching and it seemed like the consensus was that recerts are just new TVs that were opened, returned for whatever reason, but still working 100% with no problems.

So I'd recommend one of those over a refurb. Not sure if I could recommend newegg though-- it's a risk since their return policy on TVs sucks ass.
