TI 83 or 84

ebay, probably someone on here... I got my ti-83 + for $50 shipped from a trader on TGN, could barely tell the thing was even opened.

the best one is the 89 and at some point you are going to need to switch to it so the sooner you get it the happier you will be. i just wish that calcs were banned from math classes. :D
 
83 is fine for everyting through calculus 2. 89 only has small advantage over it until you hit multivariate calc, and you probably won't see that till 2nd or 3rd semester of college.
 
TI 89 can solve equations and all kinds of good shit. you can also program text into it.....not that i did any of that

Ya know, most colleges don't let you use a calculator in most math courses later on. Heck, I haven't used a calculator since, like, algebra 2. Sure would be useful in Linear Algebra, though. =(

Might want to check with your teacher/curriculum/school to see which calculators are allowed. I haven't had a class yet that allows a TI-92, and most don't go for TI-89s, either. Heh, only class where I actually got to use a calculator was in economics, and that was only a four-function calculator.
