Tips for shopping phones?

Hello all,

Tis time I am not looking for specific deals on cellphones but rather I am in need of tips, tricks and advices on how to get the best if I were to go to a retailer and buy it myself.

What must I know? What do I need to watch out for to avoid crookiness from scammers and unruly venders?

If it helps out the search, I am looking for the Samsung T619 which comes under T-Mobile and has interesting features (I want a good camera phone in particular). Pretty much want the phone for free with a 2 year contract.

It's a great site, check their forums too. User reviews, editorial reviews, upcoming phones, and many retail employees post there too. Be wary of any third party vendor, as they usually have stipulations in the fine print (and can fine you if you return a phone, change your contract/change features, etc.) If you buy online, I'd check the resellerratings site.

Personally.. I like buying unlocked phones and slipping in a SIM.
