To get, or not to get, that is the question...

So here's my dilemma: I currently have Street Fighter IV for the PS3. I have two fight pads for the PS3 and now I have a tournament edition stick on order from GS for the PS3. I plan on buying MvC2 for both the PS3 and the 360. The reason being, all of my friends have a 360 and will be buying it but none of them have a PS3. So here's my question...if I find a SF IV 360 fight pad, should I pick it up for the sole purpose of playing MvC2? I don't plan on buying SF IV for the 360 and I'm no a huge fighting fan to begin with. Can MvC2 and my unopened copy of SC IV validate a $39.99 purchase of a fight pad? I'm leaning towards no, but then again...aarrgghh! :wall::wall::wall::bomb::bomb::boxing::joystick:

So, can anyone convince me to either buy one or not? Or should I just buy MvC2 for the PS3 and leave it at that?

Even though I would of recommended buying all those games on the 360 in the first place because of your friends alone. If you have money to spare go nuts but I don't think the controller is required I would rather just get a cheap hori doa/vf5 stick for the same price. I bought the DOA4 arcade stick few months after DOA4 came out and I ended up getting it for $25 new. I would just try finding one of those sticks if you seem to want to play on the 360 with your friends so much as for SC4 don't touch it.

Well normally I do buy my games for the 360 if I know my friends have them/will get them, but it's kind of a long story about the PS3 version of SF IV. Basically, there was one 360 copy left at the GS I went to and when I went to the counter to ask for one, another kid went to the other register and asked for the same one. We looked at each other and since he was way younger than I was, I just let him have it and got it for the PS3. It worked out well because I could only find the PS3 fight pads at the time too.

You do make some excellent points regarding different sticks and their relative prices. That makes me swing towards not getting the pad and just finding another one of those cheap sticks somewhere. Thanks for the advice!
Why bother with the fight pad? You don't need the six-button layout with MvC2.
Valid point...never thought about that. Thanks!
