Tomb Raider series yay or nay?

5 years ago: Great games!

After every game copied the engine and idea and there own game just started to suck and were really rushed and sloppy just to cash in again...and then again...oh and again...and next years.. and the next...Oh wait we'll cash in again!

It got kinda old!

I never really liked the series.

Lara felt like Ms. Roboto. I look back and think that those guys had to be crazy to expect you to do so many acrobatic things with such poor controls.

I enjoyed the first two, despite never finishing them even though I played several hours worth and whored a fucking strategy guide.

Part 3-5 only kept me playing for a couple of hours.
I found AOD to be simply unplayable in this day and age.
this series needs to disappear for like 8 years, then have a new next gen comback.
I think this series needs to disappear forever and never come back.

Damn right, too many good adventures on the horizon to care about this one anymore. But thats just me, I never liked Tomb Raider.

I actually played AOD all the way through last year and found it to be not nearly as bad as everyone says it is. It seems to have become fashionable in recent days to rag on the TR series, but last year's AOD was nowhere near as bad as Charlie's Angels for GCN or Drake of the 99 Dragons for Xbox.

It's sort of like the developer was experimenting with AOD to see what direction they should try next since they'd gotten stale and complacent where they were. Yes, they screwed up some things that weren't broke before, but the new control system wasn't that bad if you actually took the time to get used to it.

I never got into them. I played the first 2 for an hour or so and never put 'em back in the system. Maybe I didn't give them enough of a chance.
