I have permission from the CEO himself, Cheapy, so I'm not advertising :) But anyway, I just created a site almost 2 weeks ago, and would like some feedback on it.

There are no ads and I am not selling anything FYI. It's a news website for all car related games. I have been updating it almost everyday, and plan on adding more things such as a chat room or forum.

Please let me know what you all think of it, all criticism/suggestions help.

So far, I like it. The format gets a little out of whack when viewing it in firefox but it looked fine in IE. Keep up the good work.
 
Good so far. Only question is...are you sure you just want it to be car related?

What that? Like 4 good quality games a year? I think you are narrowing your client to much. Theres niche crowd and then there is just plain unpopluar.

But as for the website its self....looks fine. Nice colors (I hate when people make bright websites...its like staring into the fucking sun) good amount of information. And very Nice logo.

You might want to tweak your stylesheet to make it more Firefox friendly since a lot of geeks seem to prefer it these days.

Other than that, good job so far!
 
I don't think the niche is bad, probably more like 6-8 games a year, not to mention there are a lot of specific game related sites (i.e. Halo) that get a lot of traffic, they layout is good too.
 
See, I didn't really intend for it to be a gaming related site when I registered the domain. It was a car forum, then I realized it's impossible to start a new forum, esp. when there are tons of big car forums, then this idea came into my head.

As for the narrow subject, yes I do realize that somewhat, but news can be about Live downloads on the games, news for upcoming games, random stories, and I plan on stretching it a bit to talk about any games that have vehicles in it, such as GTA4 or even talk specifically about Halo 3 vehicles.

A forum will most likely be implemented soon that might help build traffic as well.
 
I think the niche is ok and the site looks nice. It is a little bit unacceptable these days though to have the site not support Firefox... you might want to fix that up ASAP.

Yep, red on that grey bg is very hard to read IMO.

As already mentioned it looks pretty wonky in FF. Just opened it in IE and I see the red titles are on black in IE. So you just need to fix things so it works in FF.

I'd suggest checking your site in IE, Firefox, and Opera to make sure everything looks nice and works in all 3 of those browsers. Looks like you are using wordpress? There should be templates you can tweak that are already designed to work in all of those browsers.
 
Hmm, yes it is F'd up looking in FF, weird, it used to look fine in FF...I've switched to a new theme just until I get the old one working again
 
Very cool that you've got your own site going. I always thought I should do that... ya know back around 2000 and on, as I thought it'd be cool to have a site that I could say I started way back when, but I never did.

Anyway, as for the site it looks rather generic to be honest (although I didn't see how it looked originally), and there's not much on there that begs for me to bookmark it (yet), but I'm not all that into racing games.

An interesting niche site, good luck!
 
I think it looks really good. I use internet explorer. Keep up the good work. Will you be putting forums on the site? I might have overlooked them if they are there. I need to goto bed.
 
Thanks guys on all the feedback, I really appreciate it. I will be adding forums to whomever asked, they just aren't up yet. I have to figure out what categories to have, etc. If you have any suggestions for this, feel free to post.

And thanks Cleaner7, you are the only other person that has actually said you like the name, I really like it as well :)
