They have been ~$80/100 for quite a while now, but they are down to $59.
Grab one as an extra, to buy cheap HD DVDs, or as a great Upconverter!
Read the descriptions of each one so you can know what you will get.

oh heck yes. in for one a30. i have 2 360 drives, but i wanted a standalone player much more. and now i finally have incentive to keep buying hddvds.

I really want one because I have a few HD DVDs that I want to see. But I already bought the 360 add-on for way too much and then decided not to get a 360 after all. Then Toshiba announced that HD DVD was dead before I could offload the player. This would just be that much more money sunk into being able to watch 8 or 9 movies... :S

i'm thinking about getting one of these?
are they any better than the one for the 360?

also wheres the cheapest place to get planet earth and the matrix?
goshdarnit i ordered but they just cancelled my order
When did you place your order? I ordered on sunday and as of this morning, the site says my order is "authorized". Ship date shows as Aug 1st though.

A30 says in stock on their website, I went and placed an order this evening (well ok, 30 minutes ago). Got email confirmation, so we'll see what happens

When they say refurbished do they mean they had to repair the player? Also, I don't understand when they say minor damage to the outer box. I wanted to get the HD-A3 but I am afraid that I will be getting a model that is damaged or will break easily

I ordered the A3 last Sunday and just got it on Friday(yesterday). The outside box looked brand new like any box from a store and the everything inside looked unopened. The instruction booklet and remote control were in a sealed bag with the batteries still in shrink wrap. The player itself was wrapped in plastic with padding over the front buttons. It came with 300 and a Bourne movie (I already had both) and both movies were sealed. I've never bought from them before but I was pretty impressed at how everything "looked" brand new. Whether it's new, a return, or refurbished, I can't tell but am happy with my purchase. The 360 add-on is gonna be put away for a rainy day..........Only note is that it took about an hour for the firmware update to finish which made me nervous but I watched some of 300 and the picture was pretty sweet.

I figured I would give it a try. I have so many hd-dvd movies it would be a shame to be stuck without player.
