My local Best Buys seem to have plenty of the green $19.99 GGC in stock, and we've all heard about its magical powers. If there's a CAG out there who feels like s/he just must have one, I can facilitate maybe four to six of you. I would just as soon not do this over PayPal, so for now let's see if any of the interested CAGs have GameCube titles to trade. PM me with the GameCube titles you're interested in getting rid of and what $ amount gift card you feel would be fair payment. For instance, if it's a GC game that lists for ~$20 and sells for $13-$18 at most used places, maybe that's worth a $5 GGC. Maybe it's worth a $10 GGC. You tell me what you have to trade and what you think it's worth, and I'll respond to any good deals that strike me and/or to anyone that seems especially desperate. A few titles I'd be interested in are Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Zelda: Four Swords, Viewtiful Joe 1/2, Resident Evil 4, Wario Ware, any of the Mario Partys, Pikmin 2, Beyond Good & Evil, Mega Man, X-Men Legends, Spider-Man 2 and Simpsons Hit & Run, but I'm curious about whatever you want to get rid of. I should add that I am a true cheapass ... the reasons I haven't purchased any of the above games is that, even at their used prices with all the various Edge card/CAG16/etc. discounts, I think they're all too expensive. On the flipside, what you're trading doesn't have to be in mint packaging or even complete, depending on the price. We've heard of people saving $20 or more with one GGC, and if the prospect of that is worth liquidating some GC titles you're done with, let me know.

Ok, let me see if I understand this. You are trading the "discount" best buy gives as your commodity for OUR games. So say PoP Sands of Time is worth $15, youd give us 3 GGCs with 3 $5 off coupons?

hmm the previous GGC expires at the end of the year of 2004 and not sure did BB put out new ones yet.

Yes they did. The 2005 ones w/the $19.99 or less are Green. The other kind are platform specific (Ps2,Xbox) and are only off of a purchase of $29.99 or more.

No, I'd put money on the cards as well. To take the Sands of Time example: I'd pay $10 shipped for a near-mint, complete copy of Sands of Time -- more than what EB or Gamestop would pay, less than what they would charge. Rather than pay you $10 over Paypal, the seller would get a $10 GGC with coupon shipped to them, which has been reported as giving the user unlimited $5-off discounts for every video game item in a Best Buy purchase. For people that would take advantage of the BB offer, it's better than cash, and a lot of people apparently can't get their hands on these cards.

If I liked using Paypal, I would just set up a GGC distro service with some nominal serving/shipping free. Instead, that nominal fee comes in the form of accepting a little less than "face" value for your used games.

I think he is saying that for example, if you send him Metroid Prime (retail $20, sells for around $10-15) he will send you a GGC with $10-$15 on it.

I could be wrong, but that's how I saw it.

I sure hope so because then its like a "gift with purchase", not trying to get cash/games for JUST a GGC(s).

bump 3 of 3

No skin off my nose if no one wants to take advantage of this, but I just went to my Best Buy today and there's no shortage of the GGCs. Who knows how long the GGC "glitch" will last -- maybe it's already fixed -- but I'm happy to help a few CAGs get the hook-up, as the site has already saved me quite a bit of cash. (CAG15, finding out about the Wavebird/Metroid combo....)
