Is there a way to transfer credit from wherehouse/fye to ebgames. the game selection/price suck, of course, at fye.

can i just transfer the credit by purchasing a new release at fye/wherehouse, e.g. gran turismo 4, and then trading it in to ebgames w/o much loss to my wallet?

please post ur opinions...

nope most stores will demand to see a recept.. be nice if you could i got around 400 bucks credit at FYE and they are starting to stop carring video games and i dont want 400 bucks in music cds or movies :?

my wherehouse/fye has a very small games section, and i think even new releases, so buying new release games shouldn't be a problem..

however, what's the trade in value on new release games at ebgames? about 40-50.00? cuz that would still be worth it...

lol 40 - 50? probably 30s or less.

so even gran turismo or maybe dmc3 would trade in for 30.00?

what about sealed. does eb take sealed games?

how else can i transfer fye credit then? or is there just no way?!?!?! :?:

by the way slidecage, what do u mean by receipt? if i buy the game at fye and then open it, trade it in, i wouldn't need a receipt?!?

if they did, they would still sell it for used (unless they're shady).

eb usually only give 50% of new so those games will probally fetch 25 each Very rare do you see games getting 30 or 35 at ebgames

GT4 is 25.00 here Someone was trying to buy 3 used games to get 1 game cheaper

44.95x 3 - 1 free would been 90 bucks they would give you 60 for the 2 other trade ins so the 1 game be 30 they said

so it seems they are only giving 25 for GT4

alright slidecage, i understood the last sentence....lol

so, what about other stores? gamecrzy, gamerush, gamestop, blah blah? what's their trade in value on new releases?!?! anyone have any good ideas?

WHAT? and u bought it for 40.00 i assume?!
Once I got 36 for star wars battlegrounds at EB, that was the happiest moment of my life!
This is YMMV. I traded in PoP:WW well after its release (finished most of the game and got bored with it) and still got $30, was a surprise to me. Recently traded RE4 for $30 as well. Most newer games I check on at EB bring $30 credit and $24 cash. Like I said, YMMV.

You'll probably be able to get more in cash from eBay than you would in credit from EBGames for nearly anything (especially still sealed games)

So you could convert your FYE credit into maybe 70-80% of that amount in cash (maybe more if you carefully choose what you buy). But it would be a lot more work.

If you can get your credit put on an FYE gift card you might be able to just sell that for some % in cash.

thats probably going to be your best bet, at gamestop GT4 is going for 30 dollars trade in, if youre willing to put the time into ebay youll def. get more, and itll be cash not eb credit

The easiest way to do this and not have too much loss is to buy a game system, slim ps2 is a good choice, then ebay it.

If you can wait, get a psp and ebay it when they come out.

it would be nice if newer games did fetch 30 each

Could of got

RE4 gamecube, Nba Street vol 3 gamecube and GTA San Ps2 for 90.00 (buy 2 get 1) then 9 off with the card so 81 bucks right.

if you could get 30 each for RE4 and GTA + 10 extra Total 70 trade
that would be like getting NBA STREET VOL 3 for 11 bucks

does anyone know what the highest trade in value was for ps2 gta san andreas? i could've sworn it was 40 bucks at one time at my local ebgames? maybe they had a special trade in offer at one time..

has there ever been any Other REALLY GOOD trade-in offers at EB in the past like the "now ending trade in 2 get a bonus 10.00 on ANY ps2/gcn/xbox games?"

what about other eb trade in offers such as movies/music cd's etc.?

On a related note, FYE does pricematch other stores. They need to see an advertisement (at least, that's what I was told), but I pricematched Wonderfalls (Target ad), Arrested Development season 1 (Target ad), and Wario Ware DS (Sears ad) today because I had some FYE credit. So, if you've got FYE credit and they've got a decent selection, you can make their prices not suck by bringing in a competitor's ad.

that sounds like a good idea, i think i'm goinga take a pile of my sunday paper to the store next time...

they have outrageous prices for retail items. do their prices ever go down? i bought champions of norrath for about 8.00 there, that's it... i doubt they may have any other good deals there, especially since there's not much of a used selection by me.

Ill take the 400 then

my Fye still has a bunch of games and systems so it might still be worth keeping the credit if u live by me

sorry about the late reply, do they sell used games and USED systems, too?
i guess i'll have to stick with fye credit and get some books, music, etc.. some used games here are about 10.00. pretty good, eh?
