I'm not sure who else is still watching the train wreck that is Knight Rider, but tonights episode just ended moments ago and the preview for next week showed some robots chasing after KITT.

The last couple of seconds I hear "WE MUST STOP KITT" in a voice quite similar to an Autobot/Decepticon. I'm pretty sure it was almost Megatron like. As I turned to the TV I saw a robot standing over KITT in the desert taking a swing down at him.

Now I don't know WTF is going on. I don't know is its a last ditch effort to gain viewers but the have my attention next week!

Just wanted to give you guys the heads up and I have my fingers crossed that this is true because it would be freakin' sweet!

(Sorry if next week This turns out this is bad info)

Yes, that is Peter Cullen. He was KARR in the original, as well as Optimus Prime in the Transformers. This new robot...yeah, that's KARR.

FREAKIN SWEET BABY! The sound byte was some damn fast and unexpected that I thought it was Megatron but WSB gives me faith that it was , let's say a "dark" optimus in the form of KARR.

They need to exploit this and get some more damn viewers give us a couple of "To Be Continues"

Indeed. It may just be fan service, but it leaves a glimmer of hope that they might be able to get this steaming pile turned around.

Transformers!?! Where?

I can't belive the trailer for next week isn't on youtube, I might watch the episode based on how the trailer looks.

And here's a very short video of KARR in action.

Oh snap *runs to dvr*

EDIT: Michael Bay will have some sort of post on his blog on how it's not a Transformer, he had nothing to do with the episode, and he doesn't condone it.

...And that he's awesome.

If they think, they're gonna use THAT VOICE in an episode with a ROBOT CAR and not gonna be compared in some way to transformers, they are sadly mistaken.

plus what ever ass decided to KITT transform in to different cars was asking for it in the first place.

Remember, NBC went ahead with this Knight Rider relaunch because of the success of the Transformers movie.

Yep it's true... sweet Jesus it's true.

I really hope it's not a few seconds, but something more sinister.

The new KARR reminds me of the RoboCop 2 model.

The show seems to be getting a bit darker/serious. The FBI chick and Senator Kelly are off the show and Mike seems to take things more seriously. YAY:whee:

Okay I caught the last half of Knight Rider because I spotted this thread, and I have to ask is it always this, BAD? I don't mean cheesy, I mean bad. Sure I'm DVR'ing the next episode to see big bad KARR, but I'll most likely fast forward to just watch the cool parts and hear Peter Cullen.

Way worse. The last couple of episodes have actually been pretty good, comparatively.

Oh god. If this is good, I have to wonder who tore their soul into seven pieces to sell to seven devils to keep this show on the air.

I like to think that just by me having it on NBC while I do my netsurfing, I've kept it on the air. You can thank me later.
I blame the main character, he's not believable, and the storyline/writing seems bad. I don't mind the asian woman though ;)

With the upcoming episodes, I read that they are trying to tweak the show and get back to the old Knight Rider roots with Micheal going place to place helping people out rather then fighting an evil person trying to overthrow the government each week. That is why they killed/written off some of the characters and are getting rid of the Government agency and will probably have Sarah become like Devon Miles creating a Knight Foundation now that her father is dead.

Being on at 8pm Wednesday with nothing else really on is what is probably saved the show this long plus I am sure Ford is paying big bucks for all the variations of Fords that KITT transforms into.

Being a fan of Peter Cullen and the Transformers I too will be checking out this episode. I watched the movie before the show started, and the season premiere, but just didn't care for the show. We'll see if my opinion changes.

well this gives me a good reason to finally catch up on the episodes i haven't watched yet on my dvr. the show is cheesy in a good way, it is just that I haven't been possessed to watch it. so I will start to catch up right after my name is earl tonight.

Oh man, that was so awesome. I'm still nerding out. That KITT vs. KARR fight was so money. The last 15 minutes was like a huge apology to fans of the old series. While the ending was hoaky, it seemed to bring the series back in line with the spirit of the original.

I was kinda mad, i felt it was over a bit too fast. glad that dude died. but he should have been exploded in to a million unidentifiable pieces. I guess theres no hope for a Karr return though.

You obviously either didn't see or don't remember the original KARR story. ;)
The "climax" was almost a frame for frame homage of the original.

I'm so happy they kept some things out of the commercials, such as KARR actually having a
Mustang mode like KITT, complete with yellow scan bar.
I also never noticed if any of the commercials showed KARR's
scanbar in robot mode, so that was a welcome, happy surprise.

Yea it was such a suspenseful build up, then bam....all over :( Too bad.

Cullen didn't sound as deadly as he did back then. Don't you think they would have come up with a better backstory then reusing the KARR backstory? That was kind of freaky when Karr linked to Toress (sp?) like that. Now see if this was done right, what they should have done is some how made Toress some sort of criminal on the run. In deserperation he merges with KARR and becomes his driver. It would have made a pefect villian for Michael Knight and KITT.

Will we see a come back of KARR? No indication that it will.

It was a good buildup it just took to long. And Peter Cullen sounded more like a drunk Prime then a menacing KARR. "We Will Become One, Michael Knight!" I LOL'd so hard. It KARR shows up again, I'm more then game though.

i hope this isnt true. i remember hearing something about Ford approaching the creators of Knight Rider and actually telling them to tone down the product placement, because even they found it to be too much.

you sir are correct, i dont remember it but doesn't mean i can't ask for or expect more ;)

Ok I gave it another viewing...

This episode had so many problems...where to begin?

Putting KITT into Area 51 was just plain stupid. The writers know jack about that place. If they took the time to research it better, they would have realized that there is no way in hell he could have gotten THAT close, nor penetrated the facility without being detected.

Anyone notice that there was no room what so ever for Michael to open the door inside the create, yet he just popped right in?!?!?

It was said that putting KITT's personality AI inside of KARR would correct the flaw... uh.... what? yet KARR escapes and goes after Michael KNIGHT.

There was no logic behind Torres activating KARR. KITT has not been stolen or corrupted and was not a threat. It was like uh we need to activate a killing machine again, just for the hell of it.

There was NO WAY Torres should have come out of that explosion in one piece! KITT TB'ed RIGHT INTO THE MAIN BODY AND BLEW UP KARR!!

Since when did KARR Become a GOBOT??!?!?!?

No one ever thought of a KILL SWITCH for a killer robot?!?!?!?! I mean come on, even Robocop 2 they had a switch!!!

One episode called KARR, Knight Automated Cybernetic something something, yet in this episode they revert back to his original name...hmm..

I really think that this story would have been an interesting one IF the gang caught Torres confessing that he wanted Gramer out of the way by killing him. With that it would cause him to be on the run from everyone and his last ditch effort would be to join with KARR to get revenge after Michael.

Sara now has what? A BILLION DOLLARS in her checking account?!?! WHAT THE fuck!?!!?!?

The KNight foundation for Law and government is back, without government support to do whatever they want? Huh? In this post 9/11 would there would be no way in hell the NSA would allow them to continue without regulation and supervision. Their operation, without continuing funding will go belly up in a year. KITT is not cheap you know. I doubt Zoey is going to take a pay cut either. Strange way to boot 3 cast members off the show like that.

The KARR episode should have been a two parter, season finale/series finale at best.

:bomb::bomb::bomb:

I would not be suprised if in one quick scene of TF2, you see KITT speeding by Optimus Prime in some sort of crazy ass chase and you can see KITT's scanner light.
