Sorry it's not a deal, but it will save you from spending your money for possibly double-dipping.

Seeing how there were a couple of "Star Wars Blu-ray Reviews" posted on this forum just a couple weeks ago, might as well post a heads up about the newly yesterday released Transformers Dark of the Moon on Blu-ray/DVD.

Paramount will be releasing a deluxe Blu-ray combo that will have the 3D version as well as all the special features extras missing from the current release (November 15 is the tenative date).

And now we come to the big drawback of this release – the special features, or lack thereof.

There is not a single special feature found on this release. Nada, zero, not even a commentary.

Paramount is rushing this inexpensive bare bones title to market just three months after it premiered in theaters. You get DVD and Blu-ray versions of the movie, plus a digital copy, and that's it. Kind of a bummer for one of the summer's biggest blockbusters.

We can only speculate about the studio's motives for this strategy, but we guess it's probably got something to do with money.

If you're a fan of the movie, and you like extras, you might as well save your money for the fully loaded 3D combo pack, due out sometime in the next couple months.

Later this year, reportedly in November, Paramount will roll out deluxe Blu-ray 2D, 3D and DVD versions loaded with special features. Per Michael Bay, "...we put a lot of effort into the 3D experience for the theatrical release and I want to make sure we get it right for home viewing--and that process takes time. So stay tuned for an even more incredible release that will include the film on Blu-ray 3D and loads of bonus features."

Umm this is already well known... the "inexpensive" version is running around 17-20 bucks.... this really concerns me is that the "real" version will be starting price of 29.99 or higher with the 3-d/br/dvd/dc only... I can see the featureless version being 10 bucks on BF.

The barebones version has a 10 dollar off coupon for the deluxe version. I bought mine at Best Buy when it was $18 and frankly I'm fine with it. I find myself watching special features less and less nowadays due to a busy schedule and lack of interest. In addition I do not have a 3D HDTV and I really don't plan on owning one any time soon because 3D is still a stupid gimmick to me so the addition of a 3D blu ray disc does absolutely nothing for me.

I traded in a copy of dance dance revolution for PS3, so this cost me $7. I'm perfectly fine with that. Will I use the coupon for the 3d release and flip my current copy before then ... you bet ya! Free couple week rental

Some of us buy movies to watch the movie and don't care about special features, so this release is just fine.

Avatar did the same thing, though it was without the upgrade coupon and without the DVD and DC copies in the box. Sold pretty well knowing it was a first item in a double-dip scenario.

I'm sure this release will sell quite well. I'm just waiting it out for the whole and "complete" version. As some of us just like the movie and don't care about the special features, other do and wait out the other release.

lol... I went ahead and bought the movie, I figured it's only BB credit I'm wasting and I get a cool slip and a coupon.

$10 coupon is good until 06/2012. I see no reason the 3d version wont be cheap at some point by then, plus I got to watch the movie already

So did I the other night, but for 50cents. Redbox Blu-ray with free rental code (takes $1 off BD).

I gotta say, it wasn't too bad, but they might as well just make it rated R at this point. It's obviously not for kids at all, with the sexual innuendos, constant stream of blue language, and mega-violent violence (TFs drip red "fluid" now?)

Bonus points for Ken Jeong being in it. He adds awesome to anything he cameos in.
