TRU Rain Check on Wii -YMMV

Hi all: I was able to get a rain check on Wii this week at TRU. I am # 113 on the list, but they told me they thought mine would be in next week. Just another option for those of us still searching -- mine is the Alpharetta GA TRU. Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up. I may try doing this Monday. That's all I want for either system-just to be able to sit in a line for it without any effort. I don't care when it actually comes in.

I could of gotten a reserve for a Wii at gamecrazy and I would have been number 8 on the list but I didn't want to due to buying the Olevia 32" HDTV LCD

Rain check or no rain check....they are going to sell the systems to people if they are in-store looking to buy. If you are not there when the system is there, they will more than likely sell it to the person who is there looking to buy with the cash in hand. Rain checks are good for sale items that are out of stock but pretty much worthless in my opinion in a situation such as this hence the reason most places are not giving rain checks for an item as hot as this. I feel it is pretty ignorant on Toys R Us to hand out rain checks on this item. Please let us know if they ever honor it.

I picked up my Wii from Gamestop yesterday morning the old fashion way. Waiting for 5 hours in the cold...first in line. They only had 5 systems to sell. Called and cancelled my backordered Wii at Micro Center while at the same time giving them a thumbsup for not cancelling the orders taken unlike some other loser online companies we all know about.

If they were to do that ... then it'd just piss off the customers that do have rainchecks and they'd loose business. A rain check guarentees a sale of the item anyways. Most of them have a time limit from when it's in stock, such as 48 hours. If not picked up then, then they'd sell it to the public.

Most store will hold items for you and call you if you get a raincheck unless it's an item they have plenty of.

man some stores are dumb. we aren't supposed to do any holds until xmas and definently not do rain checks on Wii's. but good for you for getting one on hold, it's a sweet system.
