TRU Shameless re-seal FFXIII action figure

Hi Guys,

First time posting (but long time reading), so I hope I'm hitting the right forum.

I am posting in parts to 1) let off some steam, 2) curious to see what the community think of this.

So I ordered the "Final Fantasy XIII Action Figure - Lightning" from Toy's R US.com for my gf. I was very excited when I open the shipping box, but I was soon fully disappointed when I examine the product's packaging. See spoiler below for picture of the "reseal".

I was mad as hell. And this is what I wrote to TRU.com. What do you think?
I am greatly dissatisfied with the condition of the product.

The item I received obviously have been previously opened. The 3 clear sticker tape have been peeled and are crumbled.

I am upset because 3 reasons:

1) This is a collectible item. Disfigurement of the original packaging destroys the collectible value.

2) An item previously opened are considered USED. This is supposed to be a NEW item.

3) This is (was) supposed to be a gift.
As I was writing, I wasn't sure what I wanted them to do in return, as I felt like the milk has been spoiled. What I had in mind was to throw this shameless product at them. What I really wanted was a pristine product for my girl, but I am not eager to give TRU another chance to screw me again.

You could try taking it to the store and switching it out for one with a factory seal. I remember a few years ago at places like circuit city and best buy, that they would set up returned or already-opened items as clearance. By sticking resealed stuff online, they're taking the unethical route (which we've seen elsewhere) of misrepresentation of products to maximize profit.

Maybe your mailman played with it before delivering it to you. Just kidding. TRU should know better than that. Get another one in store or get your money back.

I have ordered Playarts Boxed Final Fantasy figures before for my store that have come directly from the factory, right out of the case that look like they have been opened and re-taped.

I always assumed it was customs or the factory checking the items.

That's always an issue. Just because some thing is factory fresh doesn't mean it'll be in factory fresh condition. A lot of people have to handle an item before it reaches your door OP and most of them probably don't care to keep things in collectors condition.

I know the feeling though, from when I use to collect Transformers.
