10% discount isnt such a cheapass deal. To qualify, i think you have to give at least 20%. And for hollywood video, i probably would buy unless it was 50%
I will give you $45 for one.
And shipping should be well free it's a card after all. Maybe send for a $1 so you get delivery confirmation.

I'd buy one for $50.

But I don't know what a Hollywood Video store is.

Why not just use it?

I've got a $20 sears card laying around... I'm sure I'll use it eventually for a pair of jeans or something. Just hang onto the cards.

The package has to be 3/4" thick to get DC. It is a bitch sending Gift cards with DC becasue you can't just stick it in an envelope and get DC.

Well that's to be seen, troy. There are quite a few companies that charge a certain percentage on gift cards. I had one for Old Navy I believe, and since I don't shop there I didn't use it for a few years. I gave it to a cousin for her birthday instead (because I'm cheap like that) and she said there was only like $5 on it. It was originally for $20.

You should still be able to do signature confirmation.

$80 for both cards plus shipping.

You can get around this by sticking a piece of styrofoam in the envelope.

Yeah true, but you're still better off keeping it & gradually using it, than losing 20% on this deal.

troy

That's what I thought about Old Navy.

Have you checked your balance to see if they charge fees for not using it?

I realize that this is CAG, but to lose 50% you got to be out of your mind. I'll probably end up using them, the only reason I contiplated selling them was I can't use them at Gamecrazy. Also I haven't found a Hollywood Video w/o a Gamecrazy that has a good selection of used games. I thought I might find someone on the forums that rent alot and cut them a small deal. Thanks for the input. The offer is still available and shipping is free if there are any takers.

You said that you got these because of a screw up on Hollywood's end, so how would you be loosing anything on the deal? Hell, unless I misunderstood your situation (and I'm sorry if I did), you'd be making money off of it if you sold them both for a buck.

Basically I need cash. I realize any money I make is a profit, but this does not make up for the countless game play I have been robbed. Instead of getting an access pass for 19.99, I will now have to pay the new fee of 34.99. Now the executives thought by giving me these two gift cards that I would rush out and use them on renuing my access pass. As a matter of fact, I will no longer be putting anymore money into their business. I told my wife of all your responses and she chastized me for telling my story on the original post; she said that devalued my cards. If that is the case so be it, I fully understand. I just felt robbed and just wanted a little cash to buy a few games and pay off some credit card debt. Thanks for all the input and I hope you all understand and by no means was I trying to screw/ripoff anyone.
Could a Hollywood Video gift card be used at GameCrazy?
no.. that's like asking to use a wal-mart giftcard at mcdonalds.. different stores

Actually, it's a semi-valid question since most GC/HV share a walkthrough and are owned by the same company.

OP, considering the comment from your wife, you seem to have married above your station in life.;) How does she feel about Morgan Webb as your avatar? Treat her well.:)

I've never heard of the "Pay $43 more and keep it". Is it nationwide or local? I'm pretty sure my Hollywood does not have a deal like this due to the fact they have a Gamecrazy in the store. Thanks for trying to help Shayde.

She doesn't mind the avatar at all, as a matter of fact she allows me to have/look at porn anytime. She is a great woman and I love her dearly. She goes to various forums of her own and has had things devalued by giving back stories too. I never thought to ask before posting, but I feel I did the right thing by informing the CAG community. If it hurt me, oh well, I will live another day and maybe someone will take the cards off my hands at a later date.

Your cards were always worthless. ;-) Seriously. Nobody wants to pay $90+$1 ship for a $100 gift card. That's only ~$9 saved. It's not worth the effort.

I can understand your frustration with Hollywood Access, but I wouldn't let that stop me from using it. They've given me $200 free, so I'd use it up, and then quit.

If you're still dead set on dumping the cards, I'd put them on ebay. Let people bid against one another & drive up the price. That's the best way to get maximum return.

Sears has no charge during the first 2 years. I've had the card 1/2 a year. I'll probably just use it for some new jeans.
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what an access pass is.
It's a game pass.

What did they do to give you 200 dollars in store credit? My blockbuster continued my movie pass when i told them to cancel it and they didn't give me store credit.

The company cancelled my account, said it was due to lack of funds (no way in hell) or credit card expired (also didn't happen). This happen to me about six months ago and the manager in the store just deleted any late fees that had accumulated and renewed the membership. Now what makes this time different than the last, some computer systems a**hole encrypted something into the new $34.99 Access Pass price tag. From what the customer reps told me is that if your current $19.99 pass lapses, no matter who is at fault, there is no way to get that price again. Another F'ed up thing is this guy that set these perameters no longer works for the company. I guess the executives at Hollywood skipped Business 101 in college. Basically this guy infects the system per say and the company lets him go leaving no apprentice with the knowledge of how to change the glitch. So basically I recieved the two $100 cards because no one at any level had the capability of fixing the glitch, so this was to compisate for the new price that I'm forced to pay. I no longer have the pass, nor will I ever again and for all who are paying $19.99 don't let your payment lapse.
