I don't "follow" a lot of CAG in terms of remembering character traits, but you're an exception; my wife wants a BU hoodie b/c she loves Boston Terriers, so, as a consequence, I tend to notice your avatar over others.
That said, I can't put my finger on what other thread you mentioned this in, but it was just this "spare no expense and buy the top-dollar stuff" kind of crap that comes from a rich kid who respects the status that something like Johnny Blue Label brings, but honest to god couldn't taste the difference between that and a $2 bottle of whatever bumjug booze you could conjure up.
Again, yes, Johhny Blue is fine; for your dollar, however, there are better scotches out there. You're not alone in this; take, for example, my contention on page 1 that good booze is good booze, but oftentimes people mistake the "expensive + cool bottle" formula for being a good spirit. Sure enough, two posts later, someone puts up a photo of a bottle of vodka shaped like a pocket pussy. Who's to say it's good? Why turn away from an ugly-looking bottle of *stellar* $16 vodka that can give all your fancy bottle bullshit a run for its money?
Are we not also cheap-ass-drinkers? If you want to shell out for expensive stuff, Blue Label is pretty middle-class, IMO. There are dozens of $1000+ bottles of booze out there, so if the price on the bottle matters more than what's inside, then I recommend you check out the lock box at your local liquor store. The people who buy that shit could run Blue Label through their

ing bidets, it's so common by comparison.
And...ultimately, Walker is highly overrated scotch, IMO. As I said, I'm not a scotch drinker, but Glenlivet is a mighty fine scotch (lotsa earthy flavors without tasting like Walker's literal dirt essence). And, for God's sake, stay away from Dewar's; that shit tastes as if a dwarf chain-smoked 50-cent cigars in the cask while it aged. Worst booze ever (that's perhaps an exaggeration).
Wow, ummm you got me to a T I guess...But no, I'm really not as much of an elitist as I may come off as. I'd guess you've never been to Long Island before. As for alcohol, i'm hardly a connoisseur when it comes to alcohol. I guess I just tend to like what my parents like, which makes sense because I despise beer.
