Just found 2 copies at my local K-Mart...

No, I don't know why they still have two gamecube games laying around, but I had them price-checked and they rang up $50.

That's a little steep for me, but what do you think? Is that a worthy investment?

And no, not to play...

Ahem. If you're going to be rude, just butt out. I did search, but I used eBay, on which some have sold for $75, and some for $45 plus $5 or $6 shipping.

Says the newbie.
Ah, the internet. Where there's no such thing as an intelligent question. Thanks for the help guys.
There certainly are intelligent questions. Asking for someone to spoonfeed you, though, is not always looked upon kindly.

Here's some help:

1. If your thread title had been "is GC twilight princess a good investment at $50" it wouldn't have been a problem, as everyone would have ignored your thread

2. if you had said "I checked on amazon and ebay and saw a range of prices, do you think that it is going to increase in value?" probably nobody would have had a problem.

CAG is a great community where people are usually more than willing to help. People who have been on the board for a long time don't usually smile upon new members creating pointless threads.

Have a nice day.

It's pretty obvious that it's going to increase in value, as it's a sealed Zelda game. The question was whether anybody on here thinks it's going to increase in value enough to merit a $50 purchase.

If you noticed, I have in fact searched. I didn't want anybody coming in here telling me what it was going for somewhere else. I'm quite capable of typing up a few words. I wanted the actual opinion of someone who knows the market trends better than myself, and could tell me if such an investment would pay off down the road.

Have a nice day yourself, sir.

However, that said, I do appreciate the professional and intelligent manner in which you're dealing with my "n00bness". Honestly. Thank you.

I think a good fix would just be to keep the value/rarity/pricing questions to the "is this game rare" thread... you seem very interested in game values and such which is perfectly fine, but I get a feeling that if you don't stick to an established thread you might get to posting a new one for every single question you have, which might be alot, and might not sit well with everyone else. You certainly haven't done anything wrong, I just see a bad habit forming is all.

It was one of the last Gamecube games, it's a great game, and it's a Zelda game.. is it worth it now? Probably not. Years down the road? Yeah, it'll be worth something.

Well at one point you would be able to make a profit, but it could be 2, 5 years. I mean Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker are rare sealed.

actually, i think that's the wrong thread. it drives me nuts when someone asks the value of a game in the "is it rare?" thread. those are two completely different things. what we need is a "is this worth something" thread, or at least to retitle the other if that's the way it's gonna go.

phoenix, if you can stand to sit on a hundred bucks for a few years, you can bet you'll make your money back and then some. sealed AAA Nintendo titles are almost always a hot item once they're well off the market. Super Smash Bros. Melee as well as the two titles 62t mentioned are evidence of that. considering how late in the GC's life LoZ:TP got released, i think it's a sure bet. it really just boils down to whether or not you're willing to tie up the money for a while. if you are, go for it.
